Hi all,
I'm trying to send my system audio from my iMac to my iPhone. I need to do this without the use of an additional iPhone app, so I'm using a TRS 3.5mm audio cable in the iMac's headphone port with a TRRS adapter going in to the iPhone. It looks a bit like this:
[iMac headphone port]---TRS 3.5mm-------TRS/TRRS adapter---[iPhone 6s]
Now, I know my TRS/TRRS adapter works, because when I plug in a lapel mic to my iPhone using the adapter, it picks up the audio perfectly (I'm using Voice Memo and tapping on the mic to see if the wave signal pops up, which it does).
So why doesn't the iPhone pick up the iMac as an external mic when I use the setup shown above? Do I need an iRig to do this or should this just work?
Thanks for any help.
