computer does not recognize ipod

Not long ago, I could transfer pictures and videos from my computer to my iPod Touch using Explorer. Now I cannot. Neither Windows XP or Windows 7 Explorer will recognize the iPod. iTunes seems to work ok. Computer does not recognize it as a device.

Have tried everything I can find on Google. No luck.
