iphone4s no audio

I cannot get it to make a sound when I get a msg. but it will ring when I get a call , also it will not play audio when I try to listen to a radio station, the siri will talk to me. also when I plug in ear phones there is a lot of static is this a hardware issue if so can apple fix this, thanks for any help, bophi
