iPhone Keeps Vibrating Every Few Seconds When Plugged In

On 29th Sat morning, the phone was working find but randomly shut off whilst I was using it. I was able to turn it back on and reuse it until it turned off again but when the apple logo showed up when I booted it, the screen flickered - as if brightness was going up down up down.

Then on 30th Sunday when I charged the phone, it showed the charging symbol on notifications and made the charging sound but the battery percentage wouldn't increase, It went down from 11% to 7% then the phone completely switched off.

It wouldn't turn back again and when I plugged in the charger it vibrates every few seconds. Now it just vibrates when I plug it in and the screen is completely black and won't turn on at all.

I have important videos and photos on the device that I cannot lose. I am out of warranty so Apple repair will be too expensive.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Twitter Notification woes

Having a recurring issue where Twitter notifcations are not being received as TEXT messages on my iPhone. I;m using an iPhone 5S with the iOs 8.4.1
I have set up a CONTACT for Twitter, and when I normally get a text message whenever I get a tweet from someone that I have set up "mobile notifications" for in Twitter.

Lately it hasn't been working, as no notifications are coming in as text messages. (I prefer this to using the iphone notification system)
Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Help deleting I-cloud account

My Ipad that I had purchased a year ago from a rent-to-own company had to go in for repairs as the sound would only work when using headphones. Long story short it could not be repaired so they replaced it today with a refurbished one. It was sent to them from another store and that store did not make sure it was wiped completely so there is someone else's I-Cloud account on there that I cannot get around as I have no clue what the password is. Is there a way for me to get around this so I can start fresh with my own information? Thanks for the help!!

iTunes always resets to a past configuration

I've had this problem for ages and always thought it was a sync problem. The symptoms were that every time I synced my phone, my iTunes would not detect my phone as linked to the same account I've used for a decade. So all the changes I make to my contacts and calendar are "merged" rather than added to Outlook, on my laptop.



Often (but not always), when I open iTunes, I get the Terms and Conditions agreement screen and when I get in I have to re-log in to my account again.



When I check my authorised devices in my iTunes account, I see it has my previous phones, but not my latest phone.



On my phone, I am logged in to iTunes, but not on iCloud.



Any advice? This makes it very worrying everytime I sync as I may have lost new contact and calendar information without realising.

Connecting iPod touch to a receiver via HDMI for music

I currently have a 64GB iPod touch connected to my Onkyo receiver via a Cambridge Audio iD100

My receiver is an Onkyo TX-SR507.

So my configuration is:

iPod Touch -> Cambridge Audio iD100 -> Toslink fiber optic cable -> Onkyo receiver.

My iPod touch 64gb is an older generation model (30 pin connector).

It works and sounds great for my music collection which is all I really use my iPod for (no videos at all).

Previously, I tried the audio headphone output to receiver method but it sounded like doodoo so I purchased the Cambridge Audio iD100 which made it sound 1000x better.

My Onkyo receiver also has HDMI input. So I was wondering if this would work as well:

iPod touch -> 30 pin to HDMI adapter -> HDMI cable -> Onkyo receiver

Technically it should work but I have a feeling there's a catch. After all if that worked, why would companies like Cambridge Audio or Pure sell devices that connect your iOS device to a receiver.

Once again my wife has managed to wipe out her iTunes music library (and this is indicative of some issues for another post -- probably in a marriage forum somewhere). Anyway several years ago I followed the steps in this article I found here to transfer music from her iPod to our computer:

IPod Nano Tunes Info

Hi there,

I have an Ipod Nano and have been trying to find out where ITunes or the Nano get the information from to list the song by Name, Artist, Album etc.

I thought initially that it must be from the MP3 Tag and made sure that all the tags read correctly. However, when transferred to the Nano from my computer songs are not in the correct Album folders. Some listed as unknown or the Album is split into two or three "folders"

Any help much appreciated.

1. Allow for linking a recording to a previously captured image with more than the usual 20 or 30 second time limit.

Wrong format for my iPod HDD…

Hello !

After a Hard drive problem with my 4th gen iPod, I've decided to buy another one. It's a 30Gb Toshiba Hard Drive, which was used but was supposed to work perfectly. It does not have the Apple logo on it but I don't think that it is a problem.


The only problem is that the hard drive is not formatted like it should be… I think that the iPod can detect it only if it is formatted in Fat32 or maybe HFS, but the seller told me that it was formatted in xubuntu.

The iPod don't detect the hard drive, and stays on the Apple logo. I can't hear a noise from the HDD and it's impossible to get into Disk Mode. I've tried with Windows and Mac OS, and the computer can't see it…

I hope you can help me ! :)

The playback sequence of my iPod Fifth Generation seems random. It doesn't follow the sequence of the songs (the tunes) in iTunes and (without my selecting the "Shuffle" option) never follows the same sequence.

iTunes and "User" names

I just upgraded from 64 bit Windows 7 to Windows 10 and before I upgraded I backed up the iTunes folder to an external hard drive. Normally after upgrading or doing a Clean Install I reinstall iTunes and then delete the new iTunes folder. I then replace it with the old backed up folder.

Windows 10 for some reason did not list my User name as "Mike" but instead "mccoa" (first few letters of my email). Is iTunes going to have any issues associating my old backed up iTunes folder with my new User name?

Old file path: C:>Users>Mike>Music>iTunes
New file path: C:>Users>mccoa>Music>iTunes

Help!

I have an old ipod classic with the 30 pin connector. I bought some new Sony wireless bluetooth noise cancelling headphones to use in my shop. The ipod won't work with it. Is there anyway to make it work? If I buy a new ipod that will work, it won't work with my Bose docking system. Is there anyway to make the old docking system work with the new ipods? I really want to use the headphones to cancel out noise from saws, etc.

Cant restore iphone

My iPhone 3g is stuck on the apple boot logo and when I enter DFU mode and restore with itunes, it gives error 1601. Tried restoring with redsn0w and it cant detect the phone going into dfu mode. This happened ever since I went to setting and clicked on "erase content and reset all settings" and I was on a jailbroken fw. Am I bricked or is there hope, have someone who wants to buy it for 40 bucks

The Hype Podcast | For movie fans!

Greetings Moviegoers,

I've recently started a movie podcast called 'The Hype'! What we do is review different types of media and see whether they're worth the hype they've been getting.

So this is our first podcast so we're still getting used to the format. But it would be awesome if you movie buffs would support us and give some of our episodes a listen.

iPod 4G back case

Hello everybody !

I have an iPod 4th gen (with click wheel) and I'd like to change the back metal housing. I've find on the internet a very cheap refurbished case of a 3rd gen iPod (the one with touch buttons). It looks really similar to mine, and I was wondering if the case of a 3rd gen iPod was compatible with my iPod.

Does anybody has ever tried ? Do you know if the two cases are the same ?

Bob Dylan Ipod 2g

Hey everyone!

I have this Bob Dylan limited edition iPod Nano 2.g. Mine is number 65 of 200 iPods made, and has Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" lyrics printed in the front.

The iPod works fine, and haven't been used much. I do not have any case, charger etc. Just the iPod.

Does anyone know what this can be worth. I can't find any info about it online.

Is there a reliable Lightning externder out there?

I use an Incipio Dualpro case on my 5s. I like it a lot, but I can't plug in my Lightning equipped external storage device while the case is on. I don't want to remove the case every time I want to use the storage device. I need a Lightning to Lightning extender of some sort - either a cable or adapter. iPod touch Help PLEASE!!

Hey all!
The other day, I was attempting to reset my iPod 4 to factory settings (i.e delete all data and completely restore) to pawn off to my brother. It's fairly old, but everything was in working condition. I plugged the iPod into the computer (I'm using Windows 8.1 and iTunes 11) and went through the steps to restore it, but in the middle of the restoration process, it came up with some error (that I can't even remember at this point). Regardless, the process was aborted, but I found out that my iPod was now stuck in recovery mode (I can turn it on and off , but then a screen with a blue iTunes logo and a usb cable pops up and stays up). To my additional horror, I've found that neither iTunes nor my computer can detect my iPod. I've uninstalled and reinstalled different versions of iTunes and even attempted 3rd party programs to kick it out of recovery mode, but none of the suggestions I've come across have helped. Can anyone here help me?

New iPod touch - Distortion from speaker

Hi all

My father has a new iPod touch, 3 weeks old he usually listens through headphones so no problem so far. However I put it on speaker and the distortion and crackling was terrible. Went to the Apple Store and was told the next available appointment was 7 days time.

I was told to come back tomorrow queue up and maybe someone will see me.

So firstly I presume the iPod speaker is faulty and taking it back is the only course of action. Secondly the customer service is quite bad or do Apple have such a high failure rate that there is a 7 day delay before they can even look at the iPod.

PLEASE WAIT, very low battery

PLEASE WAIT, very low battery, it tells me, and yet it NEVER dies!
My Ipod 80 Classic will not charge. It does not show up under computer when plugged in.
I have tried multiple computers and cords. I have changed the battery and it worked fine for a few months. But once again it just reads, please wait, very low battery.
It gets very warm when plugged in to a computer or a usb plug/port. It makes a noise like the hard drive spinning up to speed, then tapering off to silence. This repeats several times a minute.
I've been without my music for some time now and I would be forever beholding to anyone who can help me get her back up and running.

No video option on Latest Ipod Classic

I have the last model of the Ipod Classic. I was interested in seeing if I could play video from it on a TV. I looked up the procedure and it told me to set the video setting to TV or at least not to show up on the Ipod screen. There is no video settings on my ipod . It does play video. I have gone over settings a number of times thinking there was something I missed but I still can't find it.
Is this a lost cause?
Any help would be appreciated.

Lack of space.

Hi all,
looking for some help or advice please.
Somehow my ipod classic has a lot more tracks than my itunes (about 1000) so not wanting to loose them I decided to purchase touch copy and tune sweeper, all fine so far and nicely tidied up, but then message saying I have run out of space on my C drive, seeing as I have plenty of space on my D drive I moved all my music, Itunes and the new software to D drive, now when I try to access itunes it is saying it does not exist !? you can probably tell by this I am not very computer savvy but I would appreciate any help you could offer, TIA.

Is t normal for 5s to lose 5% battery overnight?

I've read a bunch of stuff about the 5s battery drain. It's not clear to me if the battery problems and overheating is something that can still happen with newer iPhones (or if that's no longer a problem), but with WiFi off and Bluetooth on I checked my phone when I got up this morning and it indicated that there was a 5% battery drain just sitting there. The phone is new so I have only two apps installed (Yahoo Weather and Google Maps). Is this normal?

The best Apple Certified Lightning cable!!

I’m a diehard apple fan; that means that I’ve got quite a number of gadgets that charge via lightning USB cable. What I found – especially with my iPhone 5s charger – was that it was quickly get broken, because I use my phone a lot, even when it’s charging. OEM Chargers are just not meant to be moved around a lot while in use, and that’s just a fact.

However, I love using my phone while it’s charging, so I set out to find a lightning cable that was durable, and didn’t tangle as much. I bought a bunch of cables to try out, including this K-bleMFi certified cable. Needless to say, out of all the other cables that I bought, this one actually lived up to my expectations. It is 6.5 feet long so it is more than twice as long as the original cable provided with my phone.

I’m a chronically heavy user, so I need to charge my phone often, and my charging cable is under a lot of stress because I use my phone while it’s charging. However, this lightning cable behaves and feels the same way ever since I took it out of the box over 3 months ago; there has been no deterioration, no tangling, no nothing. Just a perfect lightning cable to charge my iPhone. It’s been glorious. You can definitely feel the premium quality that went into their making.

And it’s totally MFi certified, because in all my weeks of using it, I’ve never gotten a compatibility error and it’s never gotten too hot or undercharged my phone. This lightning cable is a god sent!

I also love the color, because my 5s is gold, and I think the black color of the charger is a very pretty contrasting color. I think I’m going to buy some more of these as gifts for my Apple fanatic friends; they’ll love me for it because these cables are amazing.

To all previous or current users of iPodLinux

I recently installed iPodLinux on my iPod Video 5.5g. Everything went smoothly and even though I had to use the wayback machine to get some programs, I ended up with everything I wanted except for ScummVM. The only build of ScummVM I was able to find was from 2006. This is a build without sound and a very very small list of compatable games.
If anyone could send me a copy of any version of ScummVM for iPod (source code or binary) it would be much appreciated.

IOS 8.4 Music History

I would like to be able to delete the history list of songs played on the new music app. Can't find a way to do it and Apple customer support was no help. But I found something else interesting.

I downloaded another mp3 player, Tunewiki, which I had used in the past. It's not working correctly right now. No lyrics are displayed and it hasn't been updated in 2 years. But I was able to play songs and playlists synced to my iPhone 6 from iTunes. I played a few songs and deleted the app. After going back to look at the IOS 8.4 music app I saw that it is tracking the songs I played with Tunewiki as well as those I played with itself. So apparently this history list is not solely controlled by the app.

So where is this history list kept and how do I delete it? I don't need to see a song I played 5 days ago. And what is Apple doing with this list that they aren't telling us about?

Any answers out there?

Nano 7th won't connect to Bose portable soundock

Just bought a 7th generation Nano thinking I could play it through my Bose portable soundock but was in Best Buy and tried it with the 30 pin to lightning connector/adapter and couldn't get it to play or charge at all. Anyone else in the same situation, have a solution?
Spoke to a Bose rep before I tried it and he said "it SHOULD work".

Hopefully some one can help me out my father has a library of 100gb on an old classic iPod which is failing. I have bought him a new 64 gb touch which doesn't have the capacity to store all his music. He doesn't use a PC I usually make any changes on my laptop when I visit.

So what is the best way of storing his music so that he can access it directly from his iPod. I've done some research and the options seem to be imatch, a wireless external hard drive or a nas drive with iTunes server.

Also how can I hook up the new iPod to his stereo system is Bluetooth the best way to go and any re on mendacious.

All advice very much appreciated.

Is tempered glass better than rugged film?

I've been using Zagg and other films on my older iDevices for years. With the trend (I call it trend only because I'm so far behind the times :) ) of using tempered glass nowadays, is it generally felt that tempered glass screen protectors are now the way to go? Do they protect as well from a shock and scratch POV? I presume they have better "finger feel" - I can't say I've found a protective film that has the same feel as iPhone glass. I know the clear glass protectors show more glare, but I could live with that. I'm mostly interested in whether the glass protectors are considered superior over films for use and protection.

Finally entered the iPhone world - accessory help needed

I decided to join the modern world and got a 5s with a plan that was in my price range. I'm familiar with the Apple ecosystem so that's not any issue. My concern is primarily with getting a nice, thin tempered glass screen protector that will actually work, and allow the fingerprint feature to work without any problems. Suggestions welcome. I was going to try an Amzer (it's on my wife's 5c), but it's pretty thick so I wasn't sure it would allow for proper operation of the button and the fingerprint reading.
