"No Service" showing after restore.

Hi there,

Yesterday I tried to update my IPhone 3GS through ITunes and this caused my IPhone to get stuck in Recovery Mode. I'd Jailbroken this phone earlier in the year so I could use an old SIM card. I've now learned that if you update through ITunes after this it will cause the jailbreak to be cancelled. In any case, I then tried to restore the phone through ITunes and put it back to the original settings. This worked but then the IPhone wouldn't accept either the original SIM card it or the one I'd added after jailbreaking it. Somehow Itunes was able to get the phone back to its status before all of this started and now it is accepting my old SIM card and password. All my old messages and text that was stored before this are present. However, the main display is showing "No Service" so I can't make calls and Safari isn't working (although a Wi-Fi signal is being received). I'm not really sure where to start fixing this? I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Unchecked songs being checked on sync

Hi

Having painstakingly unchecked songs I don't want on my iPhone 6 in iTunes when I sync they are checked again. This is a recent thing and it has been fine in the past. I have no idea why this is happening!

I am not an iTunes match subscriber and I believe I have not changed any settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shuffle feature

I got my 6th Gen Ipod classic because it was compatible with my car.

When I got it, I went into settings on the device and told it to shuffle songs.

Today I downloaded an album by my favorite band and loaded it into its own playlist. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to tell that playlist to not shuffle and to play the tracks in order. The playlist is a concept album that tells a story with the songs. It doesn't seem right to listen to the the pieces of the story out of order.

I noticed that in Itunes I was able to load the songs in the correct order. When the playlist appears in the ipod, it's random.

Short of turning off random when I listen to that playlist, what can I do?

iPhone 6S case dilemma

Hi there,

Just bought an iPhone 6S, and I've got insurance for it.

Even though I've got insurance for it, I'm wondering what the best case is for me. I mostly live an urban lifestyle, but I do periodically live in Montana and have dropped a phone in the river. In the past I've owned LifeProof cases, but is that overkill if I have insurance? Is there another case that's suitable, and maybe not quite as bulky? Also, I once owned a LifeProof Nuud case -- the one without the screen protector because it supposedly had gorilla glass that doesn't scratch. But now, it seems the glass on this iPhone 6S is already scratching! So, what would be a good solution?

Syncing issues

Bought a new computer a few months back and have been struggling to sync my ipod nano with itunes on my new pc. Everytime i try and sync it wants to delete everything from the nano and then add everything again. I dont want to do this. Is there anyway to bypass this so it cam just sync and add the ten or fifteen songs ive downloaded in the last few months?

Mutiple Device Question

if this post should be somewhere else I apologize. I have 2 devices registered with my apple Id. A Gen 5 IPod touch & a gen 3 IPad. I recently moved and have a new main email address. I went to Apples ID management and changed my ID to the new email address. Everything is fine with the pad but the IPod Touch is still wanting the old ID and password. How do I sync the Pod with the new ID?

Never Impulse Buy

Buyer's regret for an impulse purchase of an ATV 3 before Xmas. The main reason I bought it was to stream my iTunes library (music mainly) through my TV as I just got some multimedia speakers to replace my old and obsolete stereo.

So I set it up, easy as pie, and now can stream all my music and videos - and the smartplaylists update as I hoped they would. Have to get used to the menu and remote.

Biggest disappointment and my fault having been an iPhone user since 2011. Apple music does not work - on my ATV, neither does iTunes radio as I am located in Europe and need my AM subscription to access it.

Now I am regretting buying this, does the new ATV 4 allow Apple Music to play? I don't want or need to play games on my TV. I should perhaps not gotten the ATV or subscribed to Apple music. If there is another way to stream to my TV and use it's speakers rather than my computer I am all ears.

iPod Color Logic Board

I have a 60GB iPod Color, the iPod had the hard drive connector detached and a "burnt" Power IC, both parts were replaced or soldered back into the logic board but still won't turn on or charge properly.

Notes:

1. The iPod overheats when it's charging.

2. The iPod goes into Disk Mode and holds some charge, but freezes when connected to pc.

I have some detailed pictures of the Logic Board and parts I've replaced, but since I'm a new user I can't post the pictures here.

I want to repair the logic board because here in my country a properly-working iPod Photo/Color Logic Board is expensive and hard to find. What would you suggest? I will appreciate any help!

I am getting someone else's bookmarks...

Spooky discovery here. I just found with my own bookmarks with my google account on my iPad, my sisters. When I had the Samsung, it was a handmedown from my sister. With her bookmarks not many. When I signed on to my google account there everything book I made before on my computer and the bookmarks that were already on the same sang were in there. But now they are here too plus extra ones that I never made I assumed are her bookmarks. In other words I have links to her bookmarks. My big worry is this: would she have links to mine would she have access to mine? I was never on her computer or iPad so I don't see how. Is my privacy in trouble?

Dotted grey circle

Hi all

Had no problems before syncing between new iPod touch and iTunes library. I just added some songs to iTunes on the laptop and they play ok but when I try to sync those songs to the iPod all I see is the dotted grey circle and they are not on the iPod.

I've tried syncing automatically and manually and those songs won't copy across to the iPod. I then bought some tunes of iTunes and these will go on to the iPod but likewise the dotted circle is against them and they are greyed out in iTunes on the laptop.

Any help much appreciated.

Cannot re-transfer a deleted album back on to iPhone

Actually I've deleted 2 albums as I wanted to see if this would be repeatable.... and it is!

I chose both 'Delete from My Music' and 'Remove Downloads' and now both of these albums will not go back on via iTunes.

Apple's iTunes has become half baked and buggy at best but this is a bit of a shocker.

Does anyone know of a fix or explanation for this?

Nano and MM

Did the search thing and figure after about 3.5 hours enough is enough.

I have an Ipod Classic and been using MM to add/subtract music in it, been working fine.

SIL gave us a Ipod Nano and it is full of music, some we like, some not, been trying to put the music from the Nano into the MM, no luck so far.

Best I've gotten is the song list to go to MM and I can play those tunes until I disconnect the Nano, then it shuts off.

Can I do this without Itunes and how?

I have an Ipod touch, and am having difficulties transferring audiobook files to the Ipod. I have tried downloading into Itunes, then dragging the Mp3 files to the Ipod, I have tried transferring from Overdrive. The files can be found on the Ipod using the PC file system, but when I disconnect the Ipod, I can't find them looking at the device files.

Ipod classic woes

Hello forum members,
This is my first post so please be patient. I have a 2009 ipod classic that is very sick. My son tried to sync it with a PC with out itunes. I know I know, youth? Since then the pod will not respond to any commands. We tried to sync it with its home computer. Itunes saw the pod for a brief shining moment but when we tried to restore it it lost communication and has not seen it since. I have reset the pod and got it into disk mode but the computer still does not see it. The pod now is locked up and displays only the apple symbol. It will not reset. We have updated itunes and rebooted the computer. Any suggestions?:questionmark:

How to move library without backup

To make a long story short, my computer gear was stolen and I have settled with my insurance company. I now have a new laptop. I have an iPhone 6 and an iPad 2 with data on them but I can't seem to find a way to get itunes populated with the data that resides on these two devices. I have spent literally hours reading and it seems that without a backup of my library I am hooped. Do I just need to start fresh like they are new devices. netflix problem/emptying cache

Moving Playlist from iPod to iTunes? Finding playlist on HD

I had a HD crash on me. Before it crashed I backed all my music.

I recently installed iTunes v12.3.2.x 64-bit and pointed to software to my backed up music that I put onto my new HD.

All the music was populated in iTunes, and some playlists were populated as well.

However, my SMART playlists were NOT populated, those are the most important ones.

SO, w/that said the following questions...

1. Did I lose my SMART playlists by installing the latest iTunes?
2. What extension or character set should I use to search for my SMART playlists

3. If that doesn't work. My iPod has the smart playlists on them, how can I transfer the smart playlists from my iPod to the new iTunes? I haven't connected my iPods since the new iTunes install.

Wondering if someone can shed some light on the terrain I find myself currently deployed in here.......

I have ITunes 12.3.2.35.....and an IPod touch.

I'm trying to add 1 song to the darned device and I cannot seem to make it work.

I'm afraid I don't play with this as much as I should, I guess. I'm getting my daughter's music and my wife's music syncing to my device just fine....where it's not wanted...but I can't get what I want to upload.

iPod Touch battery and shutting off problems

I bought a 6th generation iPod Touch back in November 2015. I have had the same problem occur two times now.

Back in December 2015, one day it just shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I had charged it fully and hadn't used it much that day. After it shut off, I plugged it in for several hours, but it still wouldn't turn back on. I let it sit there and then the next day, on a whim, I tried to turn it on and instead it showed a red battery icon indicating the battery was extremely low. I plugged it in to charge and then it started working again.

Yesterday night, the same thing happened. I first charged it fully and then went to sleep without using it. When I woke up, the iPod was shut off and it wouldn't turn back on. I plugged it in to charge for almost 6 hours or so but it still wouldn't turn on. I chatted with Apple support and she had me hold both the power button and the little circular button at the bottom for several seconds. It then turned on but had a very low battery.

She then ran a diagnostic and told me there did not appear to be anything wrong. She then asked me how often I power off the iPod and I told her rarely, probably only 4 times since I have owned it since late November 2015. She told me this was probably the issue and that I should power it off at least once every two days.

I think this sucks. I like to leave my device on constantly. The device shouldn't shut off by itself when fully charged and also lose its charge instantaneously like this. What do you think? Thanks.

i found out something. i just hooked it into my computer and apparently i can charge from my computer and i can drag thinhgs from the ipad onto my computer but i can not drag things from the computer onto the ipad. can you explain why?

A wonderful bug in ai.type iOS keyboard turn all features free!

I’ve just discover a VERY simple way that opens all the premium features of ai.type iOS Keyboard for FREE to an UNLIMITED time!!! hurry up before they will fix it!


All you have to do is follow these steps:

1. Install ai.type free version from AppStore (it’s free), search for "aitype free" on AppStore.

2. Open up the ai.type app (not the keyboard itself, just the keyboard settings app, name “ai.type” on your iPhone desktop), and click on Look & Feel button (the red rectangle on main screen).

3. In Look & Feel screen click on the link on top: “Restore Previous Purchases”.

4. Now the most important thing: don’t click yes or no on the dialogue that has just opened after step #3 above! just close the app when dialogue is displayed (DON’T move the app to background and then close - just close it WHEN it’s in foreground!).


That’s it! when you’ll reopen the app, you’ll be able to download languages, and install any premium feature for FREE - no need for Apple ID or something else!

Something scary with the power button.

Maybe I was pressing too firmly, I don't know but three times I tried to turn the iPad on it would show the apple logo a few seconds then turn off. My finger was still on the button. But I always turned it on like that before with no problem, but then again I wasn't paying much attention how firmly I was pressing it. Is there anything to worry about?

On a very early model iPad (without camera) ...... would someone remind me how to add new contacts to my email contacts. FWIW ... My email account is name@yahoo.com.

I tried Settings\Mail, Contacts,Calendar and I click my account and I see that CONTACTS is ON. But where do I go from there?

On 5th gen iPod Nano, rewinding mp3 is inaccurate

I've got an iPod Nano 5th generation.

If I'm in the middle of listening to an mp3 and use the scroll wheel to "rewind" a bit, it does it, but cuts off the end of the mp3.

It's like the cursor moves back, but the true playing-time length of the mp3 is also shortened.

It's been hard to diagnose, but it's consistent. My first take is to re-initalize the iPod then reload the music.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks....

Syncing large libraries and play counts?

I have an older iPod nano (6th gen, the one that is as small as a watch) which has 16 gigs of storage.

What I have been doing recently is syncing my music based on play count (basically, for the sole purpose of listening to all songs before listening to any one song twice). It has been working out so far. Whenever I sync my nano, the songs that have been played are removed.

I have many smart playlists going (Played Once, Played Twice, Played 3 times, etc).

Working out so far....until I went over 16 gigs.

Now, how can I sync my library based on play count? If I try to sync it, iTunes gives me a warning saying it can't sync.

I wish it would just pick and sync songs randomly.

Any suggestions on how to do this, while retaining play count? Or some other way to prevent songs from repeating before I've listened to every song?

iTunes not showing backup for IPhone 5c

Since two days ago, iTunes (12.3.2.35, the most recent one) won't show a latest backup when I plug in my iPhone (running iOS 9.2). It offers a chance to restore from a latest backup from 30/12, but when I press Backup Now, it goes through the motions but still says that the latest backup is on 30/12.

When I look in the backup folder at C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup it shows that a backup has been made, and when I look in preferences>device backups it also says that it has made one today, but interestingly in the right hand column is giving the date from 30/12.

Anyone know what might be going on?
