Moving Playlist from iPod to iTunes? Finding playlist on HD

I had a HD crash on me. Before it crashed I backed all my music.

I recently installed iTunes v12.3.2.x 64-bit and pointed to software to my backed up music that I put onto my new HD.

All the music was populated in iTunes, and some playlists were populated as well.

However, my SMART playlists were NOT populated, those are the most important ones.

SO, w/that said the following questions...

1. Did I lose my SMART playlists by installing the latest iTunes?
2. What extension or character set should I use to search for my SMART playlists

3. If that doesn't work. My iPod has the smart playlists on them, how can I transfer the smart playlists from my iPod to the new iTunes? I haven't connected my iPods since the new iTunes install.
