My husband and I have a lot of music. I keep it organized on my C drive in the My Music folder with my music in one folder and my husbands in another.
C:\User\My Music\John Doe
C:\User\My Music\Jane Doe
Unfortunately a lot (but not all) of my music is also located in the iTunes folder:
C:\User\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music
At this point I'm wasting space because I have music duplicated/located in two different places.
I use iTunes as a method of moving music onto my devices, I dont use it for any other functions.
I am not using either of these functions:
Keep iTunes Media folder organized
Copy files to iTunes Media folder ...
Basically, I want iTunes to reference the My Music folder on my hard drive in order to find the songs to play. I dont need iTunes to copy them into its own folder.
Is that possible? If so, how should I go about fixing this? Should I remove iTunes and start over?
