Okay so just recently I got myself an old iPod and replaced my hard drive with another toshiba 20gb. Now heres the thing, I don't have the money to afford a firewire cable so I can't get past the charging screen. I did find a small way through this using my old hard drive too boot past the screen then swapping my new hard drive in ( I used this in order to install rockbox by putting the iPod on disk mode once swapped back) but that doesn't remove the boot lock screen asking for me to charge with a firewire. Since I found the ability to access the hard drive is there a file I can delete or modify to remove to get me past this annoying screen? If its harder like taking apart a cable or something like that I'm willing to go full on mcguyver on this.
