HI all.
(Moderaters: Dont know where to post this as this is probably more of a Mac question than ipod touch but pertains to both...but will post anyway. if this post is moved, pls let me know where. Thanks)
Been a long time since I posted as my last ipod was the ipod nano 6g.
Anyway, I just purchased 6th gen ipod touch and am using a 2010 Macbook pro with OS 10.6.8. Snow leopard. yes, I am still using snow leopard. I updated both ipod touch(10.9 or something like that) and itunes (11.4) on my computer. Anyway, computer not recognizing ipod touch. So I called apple support and they want me to upgrade to El capitan. My problem is that my computer memory is 4G and El Capitan is 6G: even those who own similar model of MAC as me (reviewers online) say that 4G is too unstable for El capitan. Therefore, I'm too nervous to upload El capitan and use it just for this. Folks at apple support say the only way to get itunes and my computer to sync is to get that el capitan so I can get latest itunes (which is 12.2 whatever).
Any ideas? Do i really have to have to get El capitan in order to get itunes to synch? That would mean I have to buy memory for my Mac = lots of money just for this ipod touch. I really wanted the touch to use apps and store music as I dont own a smartphone.
Are there any other options or ideas, please? :o
