I recently removed a drive from 120GB iPod Classic, the drive is Toshiba MK1231GAL. I just wonder if I could use it as an external drive so I browsed eBay and found this: www(dot)ebay(dot)com/itm/1-8-ZIF-LIF-CE-HDD-Hard-Disk-Drive-SSD-to-7-15-22-Pin-SATA-Adapter-Converter-/310719237419?ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123
So technically, I can plug the drive to the adapter then plug it to the SATA port on my PC but I've heard that these iPod drives are quite tricky, it won't work with this and that so I'm not sure if it will work...
Also, I noticed that the Toshiba drive uses 3.3V DC but normal 2.5" and 3.5" drives uses 5.0V DC. Will this be an issue?
Thanks!
PS. Please replace (dot) with . as I'm not allowed to post URL.
