Pause / Restart Shuffle Play

I have about 3000 songs categorized as Christmas genre in my library. Starting around the day after Thanksgiving I shuffle play this genre in iTunes until New Year’s Day so I have the opportunity to listen to all of my Christmas music during the holidays. However, during this period if, well when, I stop shuffle play to hear something else, when I go back to shuffle play of this genre can I force it to only play songs that I haven’t been played before, basically pick up shuffle play where I left off ? I’m all ears if you have a suggestion on a different method I can employ to shuffle play my entire Christmas song collection and retain the ability to pause play to listen to sometime else, and return to where I left off….
