I subscribe to lots of podcasts through iTunes, sync them to my iPhone (running 8.1.2) and listen to episodes as they come in. I then delete them on iTunes and reysnc.
Sometimes I will download directly to the iPhone from the podcasts app and then delete them on the iPhone and iTunes when I've listened.
This normally works fine, but I find there are a few episodes that still appear in the listing on iTunes as available to be copied to iPhone. They don't appear on the Iphone podcast app either in My Episodes, Feed or Saved. And they aren't in the folder where iTunes stores the other episodes for the same programme. So I can't work out how to delete them, or why iTunes thinks they still exist.
Does anyone have any ideas about how I can delete them permanently?
