Using iPod Classics on iTunes 9.2.1

Hi all



So, I'm not new to Macs at all, but I'm certainly no expert. I have a problem that appears not to be solvable.



I have several iPods Classics. Two of them are model MC293 with firmware 2.0.4 and the other is model MC293LL with 2.0.5. The latter will not sync with iTunes 9 but apparently requires iTunes 10.7. But iTunes 10.7 on my PPC Macs running Tiger is a no-go...



So, I tried to downgrade the firmware but iTunes 10.7 running on somebody else's Intel Mac, but this would not work because of some kind of restriction. Is there anything can be done here? Or, do I have to abandon iTunes completely? It's becoming pretty coercive nowadays...
