6s Plua audio distortion issue

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue. I have an iPhone 6S Plus 64GB running iOs 9.3.3, and recently it's been having audio distortion issues. Suddenly any sound that I play, music, ringtones, even the click shutter sound when taking a pic is very distorted, and stutters. When it's in this distortion mode, only rebooting the phone corrects it. While it's distorted any videos I record, will record with this distortion, and ruin the video.

I have a battery case plugged into the phone, but this is never happening when the phone is being recharged by the battery pack. The battery pack is a MOTA Extended Battery Case for iPhone 6s Plus. The next time I get this issue, I will remove this case, and see if it's the cause. After that I'll remove the case to see if the problem returns without the case installed.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?
