Help please with an old, rarely used, iPad (Model MB292LL, without a camera) re podcasts..

The Podcast icon on the display carries the number “299." What does that mean, that I have stored 299 episodes? Have I unknowingly been automatically recording podcast updates?

Where are these podcasts stored, on the iPad or on a server somewhere?

Enterprise iPhone/iPad Tool

My company has about 400-500 iOS Devices. We use AirWatch to manage them and are very happy with that.

I am looking for a tool we can buy and use enterprise-wide (well a few admins would be able to use it) to troubleshoot/backup/grab data from our devices.

An example of what we need. A user is getting a different iPhone and has contacts on the iPhone that are from a different account (like previous job say). We don't know if they can still access the account. We need to get the contacts off of the iPhone.

There are many apps that can do this, and many are free for trial. I am looking for one app that can kind of do it all, and that we could get an enterprise license for, or licenses for a few admins at least.

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Wav files no longer playing on Itunes 12

I have the latest iTunes 12.5.1.21 for windows 7 (64 bit).

I have some old WAV files I downloaded years ago, copyright free mostly WWII era songs and anthems. Funny things is they play fine on my iPhone not on my computer. All other aac, mpeg files play fine. Not sure what changed - then again I didn't notice as I haven't played some of these for two years (!!!)

Do I need to convert the files or what?

Battery problems since iOS 10 update

Hi all. Since updating my touch to iOS 10 I've been having battery issues. I can charge it fully to 100%, take it off the charger and just watch it drain down to 20% within 30 seconds. I'll plug it right back in and it will show fully charged but once again, when I remove from charger it drains down. I have factory reset it, restored it to iOS 9 whatever before 10. I am so frustrated! This especially happens when I have podcasts updating. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

iCloud Music Library upload help needed

Please, I need Help!
I have a big bunch of Music Videos (MPEG-4 video files) which I downloaded from YouTube using YouTube Downloader app. All the music videos play and work fine in my iTunes but my problem is when I try to upload them to my iCloud Music Library they won't upload and I just get a 'Waiting' download status icon, nothing happens. Ive tried updating my iCloud Music Library over and over, Ive also signed out of iTunes Match and Apple Music then signed in again, but nothing changes. Has anybody got any suggestions please?

ps I have just noticed that all of the Music Videos (MPEG-4 video files) already stored in my iCloud Music Library are "Protected MPEG-4 video files" or "Purchased MPEG-4 video files"..

my quest for a free DVD ripper/converter

I did a have a free DVD ripper that would rip them into MP4s or MOVs or other type of video file that would play on an LGsmartTV. It would crash constantly and just got worse until finaly it would crash everytime i try to rip DVD. so i ditched that. so i tried looking for another one. i found one that only rip DVDs into MPEG format. [Wondersoft] they will only play on computers and laptops and the files arehuge and take up alot of space. so i tried looking for a free MPEG converter. i found one that would convert to MP4s but the audio and video were out of sync. [Prism] then there was another one i cant remember the name of it. it kept crashing when i tried to download it, my computer regcognized as some kind of virus. and there was another converter from Wondersoft itself but it would only convert them to WEBM format, that wouldnt work on a USB LGsmartTV. Now im very frustated, all i want is to back up my DVDs onto a pindrive that i can play on any USB port like an LGSmartTV. Why is that not possable for me?!
I mean its so easy to rip and back up your music CDs and take it anywhere. but they charge you for doing the same to your DVD movies and TV shows? and the only free one you get theres always some kind of catch? That just seems dishonest to me.

a Tale of Four "not-so-smart" Playlists

This is an interesting situation. Just to be clear, I don't consider anything here "serious". No game breaking failures, nothing that makes me want to throw my phone against a wall. Just a few curiosities. Things I wish were a little more predictable. On the iPod Classic they were predictable, which makes this a little more odd. Why did the earlier music player have no problems with something that confuses the heck out of the more advanced operating system?

With a large library I do almost all my listening via playlist. In particular, I like smart playlists to keep recent repeats to a minimum. So in my library I have a sort of master list called, imaginatively enough, "Main List"; that currently contains well over 10000 songs (everything except my seasonal and novelty music).
I listen to four main smart playlists with some regularity. I should probably explain too that I do most of testing and checking of stuff in my car now, since the Uconnect display is the only place I still get track numbers displayed.

1. "The Best". This is fun, upbeat music I listen to at the gym or when I'm alone in the car. It has only two qualifications; a) tracks with four or five stars and b) "last played" is not in the last 35 days. This does not tie back into "Main List", which means some seasonal and novelty songs are included.
It works fine. Exactly as I'd want it to.

2. "MegaMix". This is what I listen to 90% of the time. I like a wide range of stuff; and I like how I can have classical and classic rock right next to each other. This list has three conditions a) must be playlist "Main List" b) plays is greater than 0 and c) "last played" is not in the last 70 days.
It works fine in iTunes. And it will update whenever I sync. But it won't EVER update on the device.
The work around is simple. I sync four or five times a week. But its mildly annoying when I switch off this list for some reason, and then come back to it; and promptly get three songs I just listened to! If it were working correctly (like it does in iTunes and used to my iPod classic) those songs wouldn't come back for 70 days! Like I said, I have a work around, but it is occasionally a minor annoyance.

3. "Worship". My Sunday morning playlist. Clever, right? This has three conditions and again does not directly tie back into "Main List" since I have a small number of songs that are ONLY on this list. a) "rating" is in the range three to four stars b) "last played" is not in the last 45 days and c) "genre" is not "holiday".
This list works almost better than expected. On "The Best" I can see the number of tracks on the list update every time I reselect the list; but on "Worship" the track count updates every single time a song ends! Bizarre. iTunes will do this, but my Ipod never did. Its like, in this case only, the iOS device functions more like iTunes than a mobile device. It is certainly not a problem! But it is unexpected.

4. "Recently Added". Self explanatory. This has two conditions. a) playlist is "Main List" and b) play count is zero.
This list is completely broken. I have never seen a single track ever added to this list. Since I can no longer assign star ratings to my songs from the device anyway its not such a big deal. But because of how broken this list is I long ago got used to doing all of my initial listening direct from iTunes on my computer. Its not like that's a huge burden, just an annoyance. But it sure is curious it won't work at all!

Now as I said up top I check this mostly in my car. I can start on Megamix and see I have 3812 songs on the list. After listening to 20 songs I can switch to "the Best" and see 688 songs. After listening to ten tracks and switching back to Megamix it will STILL have 3812. Now if I jump right back to "The Best" it will show 678, reflecting the ten songs I listened to earlier. While Megamix is stuck on 3812.
This makes me wonder what is broken on Megamix? It COULD be the "playlist is Main List" requirement, but Main List IS on the device. All my music is on the device. My only other thought is just if the file is too big. Can the device not process playlists over 1500 or something? THAT I could fix!

Sorry for a monster long post! But I do find the logic, or not, of the smart playlists to be fascinating. If anyone actually knows what's going on I'd love to hear!

SharePod Program 2016 Version

I bought this program called SharePod online for $20 so I could take all the files on my iPod Classic 120GB and put them all in 1 folder on my external hard drive 1TB.

But I am confused on how this program works, I high lightened all the files, which is
11758 tracks selected.

Then it says It says 38 days, 24 hours 87.24 GB

So does this mean, thats how long it will take to get all my files from my iPod onto my external hard drive?

iTunes keeps crashing (Ver.12, Win 8.1)

After opening iTunes I immediately get the Windows message "iTunes has stopped working" and it crashes out.

Running latest update 12.5.1.21 on Windows 8.1 Pro (64bit)

Started a couple of weeks ago previously, iTunes worked but accessing the Store caused the crash

Working fine a couple of months ago

Opens in Safe Mode (until trying to access any online info)

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling

Any suggestions welcome

iPad 2 help needed

Hi guys I have wold ipad 2 been using it great no probs for the last few years then I decided after many months maybe I should update the software I was running on version 6 I think ..well anyway I updated it to 9.3.4. Now my problem is this the only games I have are candy crush and candy soda both of which are now crashing constantly either on start up or during loading or even during the games this is getting real annoying ...I have reinstalled them from the App Store Can anyone help please

iPod Touch 32GB IOS 6 Useless Device?

I just got a brand new iPod Touch 32GB device, with IOS 6.1.6 on it, its new and all clean no info, photos, videos, contacts, etc.

Anyway since this device is likely an old model and use IOS 6.1.6 on it, am I out of luck as far as downloading apps Facebook, Twitter, Facebook messenger, YouTube, Pokemon Go, etc.

Can I update it to IOS 7, 8 or 9? What apps can I have on it that will work?

Podcast Station Problem

When I try to set the settings for one of my podcast stations in iTunes 12.5, the settings aren't retained. (Windows 10)

In particular, I've been frustrated by one podcast station. I have station called "DJ Mixes" where I consolidate podcast DJ sets from a variety of different sources. One of the podcasts I check off as a podcast to include in the station's right sidebar shows up in the main window when I tick the little slider, but then the next time I load the station, that slider is off. It happens every time.

I thought of deleting the podcast and then re-subscribing, but I have a lot old mixes saved here, and I don't want to mess that up.

Any ideas?

Big problem with blu ray player

i am desperate, i do not know where else to go. i tread the tech support board where you can post about ANY compter electronic problem... ignored. i went to the Philips board... ignored!
i have a Philips blu ray BDP2285 and it has been freezing up on my blu ray, reg DVD and digital MKV file downloads from a USB port drive where i would have to unplug it and the plug it back in again, i first encounterd this problem a little over a year ago. where this forum told me that it might be internet cache buildup and i need t fix it, these were the instructions: "1. Re-install the latest Firmware by using USB.
2. Restore to factory default settings.
3. Pull the power cord, and then press and hold the power button for several seconds. This will drain the capacitors." i did that. and i also left the wifi off on the blu ray, so i can be sure it would not happen again....or so i thought. (i have an LGsmartTV with those things like Netflix and Youtube in the front room plus on my compter and ipad so im good.
the bluray worked fine since then...UNTIL NOW! Its doing that freezing thing again, and i dont know how. if its not intetnet cache buildup what could it be and how do i fix it? i looked online for the latest firmware upgrade download but none exist. can anyone here help me with this problem?!? :(:(:(

a file of itunes is not allowing itunes to install properly on Windows 7

Dear All,
I am trying to install the latest version of itunes (which is probably itunes 12) on my windows 7. whenever i start the installation or start the repair process it gives the following error.

Lighting Headphones vs. Dongle and Bose Earbuds

I've been A/Bing Lighting Headphones vs. Dongle and Bose Earbud (IPhone 7+). I am finding that the stock Apple lightning connector ear buds actually sound better...and I am not saying either sounds good....
The dongle and Bose are lacking a solid low end as they had on the IPhone 6. The earbuds are a bit more balanced. Neither sound great.

Kind of a bummer on the lightning dongle.

Time to look into a DAC dongle.

Curious as to others thoughts?

Itunes tag problem

this is with my itunes only. my itunes is recognizing the same album as 2 seperate albums. in other words they bothe have the same name under album title same exact spelling put when you put it into album view it shows it as 2 seperate albums. one song amoung 18 is on the same album but shows it as 2 seperate albums... why? and please dont say its spelled differantly i quadrpled check everything is exactly the same itunes just recognizes it as 2 seperate albums when it's not.

IPOD Touch Not Syncing

Syncing problems from iTunes 10 to iPhone 6

Searching the forums I don't see anything quite like this, but I'm having problems moving songs to my iPhone.
I've built a substantial iTunes library over the last ten years, over 12000 songs. Many of those songs have custom start/stop times, which is the start of this sad story. After updating to iOS10 all those custom times stopped working. I thought I'd fixed it a couple times, but in the end a number of tracks always came up with the start/stop times not working.

I finally decided to remove and reinstall all the music. For some reason, several hundred songs have not moved over to the iPhone. There is no rhyme or reason to which; some were ripped from CDs, some are older downloads, some are quite recent. They are all marked by that segmented circle to the left of the title in iTunes. But I see no action associated with that symbol to force the transfer. I'm not sure if those titles might stream if given the chance; but that's really beside the point, I want those songs on my device. I use device and computer as permanent back ups for each other, but this is becoming unworkable.

And insult to injury, the custom start/stop times are not working again either. What's going wrong?

Favorites Issue

Having the following problem. When I have a contact with multiple numbers ( ie. home, work, mobile etc) I am asked to select the number that I want as a favorite. I do, but nothing happens. It automatically defaults to which ever one it wants. I have tried changing the order of the numbers in contacts and a host of other things. Anyone have any ideas?

iPod Classic's Storage was More than the One's of Today?

Why is it that the old iPod classic's 120GB and 160GB were able to store 20,000-40,000 songs, when the iPod Touch's of today, 32GB, 64GB or higher, can only store 4,000-8,000 songs?

Why can't mp3 players of today store 20,000 or more? What do you think the reason is.

How Can I cut ties with Apple Store?

OK, I have been a iPod Classic guy for years, until it fell into the toilet, had 2 bad experiences on eBay buying used Classics, and moved on to the iPod touch.

My first problem occurred when my 6th gen Touch would not sync with my iTunes 9. I reluctantly moved up to iTunes 12, got it to sync, loaded my music and thought all was well. Except for the dam Apple Store account, that Apple Corps made me create to do the syncing. Now every time i want to play MY MUSIC on MY iPod, it is asking me to sign into "Corporate Apple". I am an old school guy. All of my music comes from MY cd's, not downloaded mp3s. I hit cancel at the Apple store sign in , but it keeps popping up. I eventually get it to go away but not before considering loading my trunk up with bricks and driving to Apple's corp office.:mad:

Please tell me there is a way to get Apple Corp to quit controlling my music listening experience.

iTunes Library on portable hard drive?

I just purchased a new Lenovo notebook that has one of those smaller SSD drives. I would like to move my iTunes library from my old computer's hard drive to an external portable drive to save space on the Lenovo. My plan is to plug in the portable drive whenever I need to add to the library or sync my device.

Has anyone done this successfully? I'm hearing from a few sources that this cannot be done or that it has something to do with the material I have in iTunes. My library is about 95% albums that I transferred directly from CD's, 4% stuff downloaded from HD Tracks and the remaining 1% downloaded from Amazon or iTunes.

iPods classic 7th gen internal speaker mod?

I am thinking about purchasing an iPod classic 7th generation and I plan to put a msata ssd in it but I was wondering is if someone has come up with a way to modify the internal speaker so it plays music without the need of a dock or headphones. I have heard on a few places of iPod classic playing music thirugh the internal speaker but I don't believe it. If there isn't a way to modify the speaker is there away to install a new speaker that will play music and responses will Ben greatly appreciated.

iTunes - Mind of its Own

I have the up-to-date version of iTunes (12.5.1.21) and am on iOS version 10.0.2 iPhone. Not that that matters much as this problem has been going on for so long I have forgotten when it started. Here's a synopsis of the problem:
I have sorted my music into Playlists - having each artist etc in their own separate playlist. This means I have about 200 playlists and over 120,000 tracks on my iTunes. Obviously I don't want all that on my iPhone (and it wouldn't take it anyway) so in Music I tick the playlists that I would like to have on my iPhone. So far, so good.
I then sync the iTunes to iPhone and I'll get the dreaded -54 error message and I look at the list of songs not copied and there are about 120 of them. I re-sync and that number goes down and down and down but never quite disappears.
I go to my iPhone and play one of the Playlists only to find that half the tracks haven't been copied - it says they are there but it skips them. I Googled this and found that by deleting the offending playlist and re-syncing that it should come back! Lo and behold I do this and this time there still isn't a complete playlist BUT some of the tracks I could previously play are being skipped and some I couldn't can now be played!!
I'm no technophobe and call me stupid but if iTunes can sync a track one time why can't it do it the next time - and vice versa?
I have been Googling this for months and tried every solution possible but nothing seems to work.
I have deleted everything and started afresh.
I have done hard resets
I have taken CDs off iTunes and reinstated them
I have removed the music from the iPhone and resynced
Nothing seems to work!!
This is really Last Chance Saloon - Can anybody out there help or at least tell me it isn't just my problem?

Not showing itunes

Just had this irritating problem again. I got an e mail showing some new iBooks, so clicked on book title and get usual screen and then click on view in iTunes. When I do that it immediately goes to a screen to download iTunes, of which I have the latest version installed on my pc.

Why is it doing this, and how can I view the item I want for possible purchase?
