Audiobooks will not transfer to iPhone

Hi I have umpteen audiobooks in iTunes and normally to get them from iTunes to my iPhone I simply drag and drop, but for some reason they refuse to transfer fro iTunes now, I have synched umpteen times but they still refuse tio transfer, just showing a no entry sign when I try to drag and drop. Any advice would be appreciated, I have not altered any settings or anything and have 1.45 GB left on the phone and the book is only about 600MB so there is plenty of room
