Due to a lot of broken paths between my itunes library and the music folders, I want to create a new library using just the music files but I'd like to preserve my playlists - can I do the following?
1) Copy entire NAS music folder to the Mac and run a script to remove all lower quality duplicates (I re-ripped 200 CD's which maintained the original mp3 versions in the folders although didn't reflect this in iTunes app)
2) Ask iTunes to create a new library from these folders
Then, can I export my old playlists from my Windows PC (where the original music files are being migrated from) and import into the new Mac library I will have created? If so, can I do this using the .xml from the NAS or should I export/import each playlist indivdually?
