Have to press menu to wake up Ipod classic 30gb

Dumb question. Just bought an old 30gb ipod classic (5th gen I think, no video). I noticed that if the screen is off and on hold and I don't use it for like 12-24 hours, I have to press and hold menu to turn it back on. (I can't just flip the hold switch back)



Is this normal?

Once I press menu, the apple logo comes up for a few seconds and it comes back on.
