iPod Touch 2nd Generation Bluetooth

I see the bluetooth on/off in settings for the iPod 2nd Generation....will this work on a bluetooth speaker like Bose etc....or is it just there for the Nike+, as I've read in other articles.....Thanks....PS...I'm waiting on a small bluetooth speaker to be delivered early next week and may be able to answer my own question, as well as others....for the adapter on other models....
