I just have a few questions regarding iPods/iTunes. I’ve had a 30GB classic 5th generation iPod for years. Aside from here and there, I really don’t upload music to it very often. It’s holding up okay, but I received a 16GB iPod touch recently as a gift. Since the Classic can obviously hold more, I would like to keep that to store my overall musical library, and put the music I listen to often as well as any recent downloads onto the Touch.
Since I’ve never had two iPods, I’m wondering what the easiest way to go about this is so that I end up with the specific music I want on the selected iPod. I have a Windows laptop, and all of my music is either uploaded from CD’s or downloaded from the web (nothing directly purchased from iTunes).
Also, and this may sound dumb, I’m wondering how everyone stores their recently downloaded music files? I’ve had issues with using the default iTunes library file – some of my music files duplicated, other times it didn’t even upload into iTunes. So, I’m just wondering if I’m doing something wrong. To explain, I download the music, it goes into the folder and either never uploads into iTunes or will upload and then once I download more music at a later date, will duplicate.
PS: I’ve seen a lot about different versions of iTunes causing issues or losing music – should I be worried about this? I currently have 11.3.
