When I try to download either a purchased video or a new app the download icon rotates but does not fill and the required item is now installed. What am I doing wrong?

iCloud stressing the internet
I read some articles about the iCloud on this website, and I have some additional questions. In short, this is what I want: I want to be able to throttle the upload speed of the iCloud service, or schedule the backups to a timeframe, rather than the usual being connected to a charger and wifi.
The reason I want this is because both my parents are using the iCloud service, and they tend to go to bed earlier than I do. My rural living environment doesn't allow for high speed internet, so whenever they start uploading I tend to not be able to much. This sometimes last for 5 minutes, but it can also take up to hours.
I've looked at my router, but it's a pretty basic one. As far as I'm concerned, I can't add any quality observer to throttle the upload speed of the devices manually.
I'm hoping there is a work around for the iCloud schedules, or the upload speed throttle. If you happen to know any, please share!

What's up with this??
Hi,
I have a 4th gen shuffle that has been working great. Yesterday morning it suddenly turns off. I thought it odd because it didn't give a low battery warning and I had just charged it a few days before. So I plugged in to an iphone charger and it charged, showing green.
When I go to turn it on, nothing happens. I plug into my computer and it's fine, comes up on iTunes shows fully charged. I restored it and I have the same problem...what to do?

Volume Adjustment of Songs
I fiddle around with the volume adjustment on my songs (right click > get info > options > volume adjust). In the past, I've set the adjustment to 100%. Every song I individually look at is at that level currently. I want to adjust it down to "None." Every time I do that, whether collectively doing songs as a group or doing it individually, it allows me to slide the bar back down to None, press the OK button, but then when I right click to check if it has adjusted, the volume adjustment bar shows as 100% again.
Any ideas? Is it a bug and I just need to update iTunes?

Created new iTunes ID; content merged w/ old ID?
New here; TIA for any assistance.
I created a new iTunes ID for my child so that he could have his own iTunes library. However, now when I log into iTunes under my old ID, the only content I have is the same as my son's. Everything else is GONE. When I plugged in my iPad and attempted to sync it, I got a message that the iPad was connected to a different account on the same computer. But I was logged in under the same ID I've had for years. It would appear that my ID and my son's ID are one and the same account now. Have I screwed up completely? Is there any way to recover my old account info? If not, there's no way I can sync my other devices without deleting everything on them, right? Augh!!!

Adding 2nd iPad to iTunes account?
I have an iPad2 which I've had about 3 years and an iPad Mini 2 I got last Christmas. I've been happily using the iPad Mini but never bothered to sync it to my computer. I was having big issues with iTunes but I have now uninstalled and reinstalled it and it seems OK. I would like to sync the iPad Mini to back it up and also to get my Music library on to my Mini.
When I connect it, I get 2 choices - either to set up as a new iPad or to restore from the backups I made for the iPad2. I don't want the second but am worried that if I do the first I will lose everything on my Mini. I have googled for hours and am getting conflicting info. Can anyone advise please?

iPod Classic (7th Gen) 30-pin to AUX Volume Question
Background: I have a (7th Gen) 160gb ipod classic that I use to listen to music in my car. The connectors within the jack seem to have become corroded or are no longer making the appropriate contact with my AUX wire (or any headphone jack/AUX wire - I tried many different cables) anymore and as such, sound is coming out of only the left speaker.
Since I mainly use this in the car, I was beginning to lose hope of the classic working again. I did, however, find an alternative cable that works for me:

It's a 30-pin to AUX cable and it works great. It allows me to maintain full control via the iPod (which I wanted because operating menus through USB-connected device is very tedious).
Issue: My only issue is that sound seems to come through at only one "default volume" from the iPod. I can control the volume through the car stereo's volume knob no problem, but I CANNOT control the volume on the iPod (whereas I used to be able to with AUX cables that worked via the headphone jack). Unfortunately, some songs are louder than others and as such come through as staticy.
Question: Is there any way to control the volume on the iPod via this cable? If not, is there a way to lower the "default volume" (if there's such a thing) of the iPod before connecting this cable so it won't come through as staticy?

I am looking for a Bluetooth Transmitter for my iPod Classic... that also has a pass-thru to allow it to be plugged in to charge the iPod. Preferably with a USB connection to do the charging.
My old iPod Classic does not have Bluetooth, so the adaptor is so that I can pair it with wireless speakers. And hopefully also pair it with a remote control to control playback.
And the pass-thru is to plug into the USB charger in the car….. or into the USB socket in the house to keep the iPod charged.
I have searched the internet, but not having any success in finding one.
Speaker to be used is Boss Soundlink Mini 2.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Any ideas for a decent Skitch replacement?
I know Skitch wasn't perfect, but it did everything I needed. Trawling through the AppStore, there seems to be a real lack of good image/screenshot mark up & annotations apps.
All I want is various colours & thicknesses, some arrows, rectangles/boxes/circles & text. Then to be able to save & share.
Just like Skitch really.. [emoji6]

Save on iTunes costs
If you set up an itunes account in Canada you can buy music and some other items cheaper than in the US ( not sure if this works in Europe or not). A single song on the Canadian itunes site is $.99 Canadian and the same song on the US site is also $.99 US.....however the American dollar is 30% higher in value than the Canadian dollar, so the song cost $.70 US on the Canadian site. All you need is a Canadian itunes account.
Just thought that some people might want to know you can save 30%.

iPod 6th gen CF to SD being very annoying
Hi Everyone,
I see that there are a few people out here doing the CF replacement in iPods. My iPod has been a serious pain, and I cant get it to work. This is my first time on a forum, so sorry if I do something wrong..
First, my iPod HDD crashed, so I figured to go with the CF option. I ordered all the parts; an iFlash with CF, an CF to SD card and a 16GB SD card. I bought a cheap SD card, just to try if the whole thing would work.
I installed the iFlash, put the CF to SD in there, then SD card in the CF adapter and connected it to my mac. Error 1434 showed up. Formatted it a few times to mac journaled and fat. Same problems. Entered Disk Mode, no error, but when iTunes says restore succesfully, iPod is now restarting or something, it didn't restart and stayed in Disk Mode.
I figured that it should be the cheap SD card, so I tried an old 2GB SD.. same error. Thought is must be the old SD, so I tried 2 different CF cards. Still the same.. I guessed I was unlucky, so I bought a high quality 64GB Sandisk SDXC. No luck.. Same errors. Also tried with DFU mode.. no luck.
Yesterday I gave up, and tried installing Rockbox. It works, but only with windows, and my whole music library isn't labelled it finder, but it iTunes. Songs are labelled weird. Also I have to transfer my 13000 songs to a windows pc, and transfer it.. really not ideal.
Does anyone has a solution to this? I would love to have the original iPod OS installed, but I don't think that's gonna work.. Rockbox is also fine, but is there a way to sync with mac?
(I dont understand the Rockbox forum security question, so that's why I'm posting here..)

Then I found TunesKit AudioBook Converter which is advertised to bypass DRM protection from iTunes audiobooks and audible audiobooks easily. I have tried it and the trial version worked fine. Sync problem
I had some problems syncing my iPod touch, 5th gen I think. The first model with lightning connector. I reset it to delete everything, reset as new iPod and synced. In I tunes I selected my photo library file, and in music I selected my entire music library ( everything fit previously with room to spare) While syncing it indicated number of photos progressing, and then names of songs, but when completed only a very few photos are there and although albums and songs finally show up, when I select one it says unavailable to play. What can I do to correct all these problems.

5th Generation 6th Face
Hello folks....I've seen a few and I like the look....the frame has to be changed and and the 5th clickwheel cover doesn't fit smoothly....soooo.....using the 6th Gen clickwheel cover....has anyone done it....I'm wondering how you "built up" the taps on the inside...or on the board to allow the buttons to meet with the wheel and function properly.....many thanks in advance....

iPod Classic 3 generazione
Ciao a tutti, spero di aver scritto sulla sezione giusta.
Ho trovato un vecchio iPod in un cassetto che non si accende, anzi si accendeva e dopo averlo resettato chiedeva di collegarlo alla presa di corrente, e anche se lo collegavo non faceva niente. A quel punto ho ordinato una batteria, ora l'ho montata e attaccandolo alla spina va in carica e a volte esce un iPod con la faccina triste e poi va di nuovo in carica. A qualcuno è mai successo? Mi potete aiutare? Grazie

iTunes 10 and MP3 conversion
first, i apologize for asking this question. I've searched and not found anything that answers the question....maybe i'm an idiot.
I have an older iPod that I love. under iTunes 10, I cannot convert any of the files on the to MP3 format. I've gone to preferences, general, import, etc....when i select the music, there is no option to convert as there used to be.
Any help is appreciated.

Sync Bookmarks With Google Chrome
For quite a while I kept my bookmarks synced successfully between my iPhone 6, my iPad, along with the Google Chrome browsers on my Windows 8 Desktop and Laptop PC's. Recently, however (since Sept. ios update) they are all messed up! The biggest problem is duplicates, but also there are both "bookmarks" as well as multiple "bookmarks bars" showing up on all devices. I spend lots of time fixing on both the iPhone and/or the computers but the next day they are back in dissaray! What's going on? How can I fix? Thanks!

trying to understand iphone upgrade options
I'm upgrading my iphone 4s to a 6s (64gb). Question is I have 3 options to choose from through Verizon and trying to understand the pros and cons of each.
1) A monthly payment plan would be $31.24/month for 24 months.
2) A 2 yr. contract would make the phone $299.99 + upgrade fee $40
3) Buying it full retail would be $750.
I should note that I'll probably upgrade in about a year to the iphone 7.
Seems like then the 2 yr. contract would be the best way to go, because with the payment plan I would be paying about $375 for a year, and the 2 yr. contract I would be paying $340 for a year.
I could also sell the phone in a year on eBay and get some money back.
Any reason though, why I would go the payment plan route...or even buy the phone outright at $750?
The only reason I can think where the payment plan would be good is the Applecare + (accidental damage coverage).
If I can sell it on eBay in a year though, seems like a 2 yr. contract is a no brainer here, right?

4 Ipods one Laptop, How to sync all of them?
I have a 1 Shuffle, 1 Nano and 2 Classics. I have a truck load of music and I want to sync with all 4 Ipods with the same Laptop. Is this possible or would I have to partition the Hard Drive for each Ipod? Any tips/tricks would be appreciated.

My daughter would like to get an iPhone 5s. I'm getting a little confused with a few key points and am hoping that you all can help.
The phone would need to work on Sprint's network so that it would work with RingPlus.
Some phones on eBay say they will work on Sprint networks. Others just say "unlocked".
In the old days, "unlocked" meant that you could use the phone on any carrier that utilized the same technology. In our case, it would have to use CDMA instead of GSM networks.
But nowadays, some phones seem to have the ability to take SIM cards and work on *either* GSM or CDMA. This may be just iPhone 6, but I'm not sure.
1) My research tells me that some "unlocked" iPhone 5s's will work on Sprint. But I've seen some auctions that explicity say that they WON'T work on Sprint. Unless the eBay auction explicitly says that it will, is there any way to know for sure?

Copying iTunes library to another computer
Can someone point me to an easy way to copy an iTunes library from one computer to another? If it helps, I need to copy my library from iTunes v. 11.3.1.2 on Windows Vista to iTunes v. 12.1.0.71 on Windows 7.

Screen problems again
I've seen a few posts about the screens on various Apple products. I've had my iPhone 6s Plus for a few weeks and wondered if the problems I've got are normal. This is my first iPhone since my 4s but I've had issues with screens on Apple products before.
Uneven backlight across the top of the screen. I've seen lots of posts about this.
Dark patches in the bottom corners on the side, most noticeable when scrolling on a light background
Top and bottom 1/3 of screen appears warmer
'Smudge' near the top centre, almost looks like a dirty mark
I've got a week left to change it but don't know if I want to risk getting something worse.

Trouble with tapping
I am having a little trouble tapping some of my icons to open. For example YouTube, some times I have to tap about 4 or 5 times to open. And to swipe out applications I have give it about 7 tries sometimes. I try not to pound to hard and be patient but is there a reason why they don't always open on the first tap?

Podcasts don't show up
I have downloaded a variety of podcasts in the form of mp3s. I transfer them into my Itunes (current version). I was having a difficult time finding them so i added a new sort field, date added, thinking this would allow me to see what i had just transferred. The problem is that only one or two files show up when I transfer 4 or five. Somehow there is a limit of how many I can add? or some kind of sort field that I created to limit these transfers. I cannot figure out what it could be. Any help would be appreciated.

casual battery question.
as i mention my ipod calssic will be 5 years old next month. ( i got it Jan. 2011) i almost never had any problem. any problem i had i fixed.
I will tell you though most of the time i do keep it plugged in. i do not go out with it like i uesed to because of an unsafe enviroment (a friend was mugged for his ipod and since then that kinda scared me away from going out with it) but now i keep it plugged in. now it was once stated and i do not know where that that can drain battery power if you keep it plugged in meaning that the battery life will get shorter. last May i flew with my family to North carolina on a plane. i was able to play a 70 minute album on my ipod on battery power on the plane and after that the battery icon hardly showed use. so im thinking that the ipod is not as delicated as the ipad when it comes to battery power. am i right?

Using Nano with Windows Vista?

I just got a new iPod Nano 7th generation as an upgrade to my Shuffle 4th generation. I currently have iTunes v. 11.3.1.2 running on Wndows Vista. I downloaded the current version of iTunes but it won't install because it requires Windows 7 or higher. The Nano isn't recognized on my current version of iTunes. Is there any way to use the Nano with Windows Vista other than upgrading to Windows 7?

Keeping Photostream Happy on Multiple Devices
When photostream works I love it. I can keep photos from all my family's devices in my desktop PC hard drive without the need to continually sync. BUT there are two issues. 1. My Windows 8 PC doesn't get ALL the pics. It randomly ceases to receive from all devices and I have to go thru an annoying task of deleting folders and restarting to kick start the PC. Why does this occur? 2. I want one ipad to add its’ photos to the stream BUT I would prefer that device NOT have access to the stream. Is this possible? (It's my daughter’s ipad – I want to see her pics but don't want her to have access to mine.) Thanks for any help & suggestions.

Sync Issues?
Have iPod 5 64Gb. I have a lot of music and audiobooks. Usually I just listen to books. The other day a got a few new books and everything synced as usual but when I started to listen to some music I found a number of albums that were just partials. Like Roger Waters In The Flesh only had one song in the album. Everything is there in iTunes just not on the device. What am I missing here?

Want to downgrade itunes, but issue with itl
I don't like the new dumbed down/prettified itunes and want to revert to the version from ca 2 years ago. However, that version won't open my itl file because it was "made by a newer version of itunes".

About battery drainage
One of the things that was wrong with my Samsung was that it kept draining battery power for example it would skip from 45% to 25 % in 5 minutes. I want to know is there a chance my iPad mini will do that? What can cause that to happen? Like I said somewhere else I want to cover all bases.
BTW my iPod classic never had that battery drainage problem and I had that since January 2011 . So I'm use sing Apple product are a more stronger brand. :thumbsup:

How to sort titles with new interface
Trying to recreate my very extensive itunes library following a crash.
Finding that with the new (?) user interface I can't figure out how to sort titles in a playlist, by track number.
The user interface looks more "fancy" for example it's appearing in blue shade with icons from the playlist titles, which are books in this case.
I don't care for any of this - I want the plain detailed list back, whereby I can easily click on the header and sort by Artist, Size, Title, Track Number or whatever.
I get that they try to dumb down the GUI and make it prettier. But they also made it very hard for serious users to work in.
Please tell me I can get the classic layout back...!! How?

Slooooo response iTunes . . .
I have a Mac pro, with El Capitan and 8gb RAM. I have iTunes version 12.2.123. Every time I touch the mouse I get the spinning wheel. I've run the disk utility, and it all checks out. I have less the 15k songs.

Itunes sorting issue
why is this happening? when I plug in my ipod touch and go to the syncing page, I get two results for CHVRCHES. I try to fix this, by entering CHVRCHES as album artist in sorting. I have no idea how to get it as one but I think it's because one is a cd and the other is a song downloaded from youtube

Songs Duplicated by Kind
I have songs in my iTunes library, some of which are AAC, some are mp3, some are Purchased AAC, and some are Protected AAC; and many songs are duplicated in mp3 and either AAC or Purchased AAC. So when I create a large Playlist, I always end up with many instances of the same song being duplicated (i.e., one mp3 and one AAC/Protected AAC). How can I create a Playlist which excludes the duplicates?
