I mostly use Smart Playlists, they have always transferred the play order to the iPod Classic fine. With the iPhone, I've had to add the rule "Playlist" is "Music" and for whatever reason that lets the Smart Playlists show up in the order I chose on iTunes, just to be safe I did the Copy to Play Order thing as well. That works fine for Smart Playlists with Match "All" of these rules, but I have a few playists that are made with Match "Any" of these rules, therefore if I add the "Playlist" is "Music" criteria, it will simply add all my songs to that playlist. So that work around is no good for me. I was really hoping the combination of new iOS and new iTunes would solve this issue, but it has not. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Environment: Windows 7 x64 with all latest updates, latest iTunes, latest iOS (as of today) on iPhone 5
Smart Playlists
--Limit is not selected
--Match Only Checked Items is not selected
--Live Updating is selected
When iPhone is connected to iTunes, iTunes settings are:
--Summary Tab: checked Sync only checked songs and videos
--Music Tab: checked Sync Music, Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres
Under Settings on iPhone 5: Music
--Shake to Shuffe is on (though I am not currently using Shuffle in any of my playlists)
--Sound Check is off, EQ is off
--Volume Limit is off
--Lyrics & Podcast Info is on
--Group by Album Artist is off
--Show All Music is off
--not subscribed to iTunes Match
On the bright side, the playlist folders and subfolders now have different artwork so yay to that.
