Please help with Itunes and new computer!

I'm getting a new computer. It will have a 256GB SSD and a 2TB HDD. I'd like to keep my Itunes program on the SSD, but the music files on the HDD. Right now, all my music files are on a detachable HDD with a USB connection, and Itunes is running on the PC's HDD. I set that up with the help of Apple support -- at the time, they helped me because my IPOD was defective (many kudos to the fast replacement on that one). I had just bulged a disc in my neck and was on painkillers, so all I remember was clicking a lot and feeling very happy. In anticipation of the new computer, though, I thought I'd post here for advice or links to resources on how to migrate the files and setup the new computer.



When the new machine arrives, how can I set it up so that my music files get moved from the detachable HDD to the new HDD, while the Itunes program runs on the SSD? Thanks for any replies!
