Downside to using old camera connection kit via 30-pin to lightning adaptor?

I already have a 30-pin to lightning adaptor. From what I can tell, I should be able to use the 30-pin camera connection kit with card reader and usb connector run through this instead of buying the newer, native lightning model.



Are there any known downsides to doing this this way?



RIght now, I'm looking at pulling pic/vids off of sd cards, and need the usb adaptor for one camera with a goofy type of card.
