iPod Classic 6g 80gb deep sleep after 30 or so minutes

Hello, like the title says, after about 30 minutes, (give or take) of my iPod being in sleep mode, it goes into deep sleep. instead of 24 hours. Also i believe it shuts off the clicker noise (turns it off in the settings automatically by itself) when it does. I was wondering if anyone knows whats wrong with it? I installed a new battery, could that be the issue?
