I keep soundcheck on in itunes as a form of normalizing/volume balancing across albums. I like that this option isn't permanent, can be switched on and off and by having it on in iTunes the same options are there on ipod devices when i've synced...
...the problem I'm having is that I drag and drop a lossless/ALAC album into itunes and it scans through its "determining audio volume" which is fine. I may then create AAC versions of an album too. If I delete both albums from itunes then drag the lossless back into itunes, it performs this scan again. However if i drag and drop the AAC created album into itunes it doesnt perform a scan, the volume data is already present/stored either in the file or in some kind of database file within the music/itunes folder...is there a way to set this up so that I can drag and drop lossless albums into itunes without it performing this "determining audio volume" every single time?
I have updated to 11.05 and when im editing group info on a whole album it keeps splitting the album into two within itunes, first one just having the first track of the album, the next album containging the rest of the tracks. I have checked every single box to confirm all data is the same across all tracks (bar title, track no, obviously) and its the same. Ive confirmed this by deleting the whole album and dragging the album back into itunes, which then keeps everything just in one album. Is this a glitch with the new itunes or just something with my computer? Problem is everytime I do this I have to wait for "DAV" to perform before I can edit the album, slowing the process down.
Appreciate any help/info anyone can provide.
