This will be a fairly long post, so bear with me
Alright, so my problems began when a soldering iron (that was on) burnt through one of my cords (while it was plugged in to the iPod 4G) and shorted something out. The iPod would then only charge when it was dead. I immediately thought, "Oh, it's just the battery." So I bought a new battery, opened the screen (basically destroying it in the process, and I lost the home button) but most of it is there. I would post a picture, but it wont let me because I'm new.
Alright, so I attempted to boot up, but it was dead and wouldnt charge because it was in recovery mode. So i tried hooking it up to itunes to see if it would recognize it so i could restore it, but that didnt work, so now I don't know what to do. Also, the black connector from the screen broke. So basically...
•I lost the home button
•The iPod is not charged unless it is dead
•It is stuck in recovery mode, but that doesnt really matter since the screen connector is broken
•The screen itself is broken
And I really don't know what to do. I don't have any money and this was my prized possession. I know it probably will never work again, but if there's a way to fix it without spending any money or very little money, please let me know. Thank you very much for reading!
