new to ipod - question

hi.



can i drag/drop my mp3's to an ipod without the necessity of going through itunes or any other propriatary apple software? i have my music tagged and organized just the way i like it and i would prefer to to have them transferred directly to the device with no encumberances.



also,,,does the ipod read folder directories?
