Just got a new laptop a few days ago, running Windows 8.1.
I downloaded iTunes 12 first of all, absolutely hated it so I uninstalled and went back to my previous version of 10.6 by downloading it from Apple, I then pointed to my backed up .itl file.
I can play songs fine in iTunes, can access all my old playlists, cover flow works, however, as soon as I click on the iTunes store, I get a message saying "iTunes has stopped working" and then it crashes a few seconds later.
I have seen various messages on the internet that mention about copying the file qtmoviewin.dll from one location to another, however I don't have this file, in fact I don't seem to have Quicktime at all on my laptop, could that be the issue? I thought that came as part of the iTunes download.
Anyone know what's happening here and what I can do to fix it? I've already tried an uninstall of 10.6 followed by a re-install.
Thanks.
