After recent introduction of Whatsapp for Web I started thinking why people still so actively use it?
There is no end-to-end encryption (well, they are implementing one soon), there is no cross-platform support, sometimes the servers can't even handle the load and the service can't send or deliver any messages at all. Also, their recent acquisition by Facebook? Does anyone know what outcomes that implies? All of your messages, media (photos, videos and voicememos) are going directly to NSA, CIA and FBI, blatantly violating your privacy rights, and all of this is going to be even easier for them with the new Whatsapp for web.
So, I just want to know if anyone agrees with me on this? Or am I just paranoid? Anybody heard of Telegram? I think its an app made by some rich Russian who has some problems with authorities and wants to keep his stuff private. I got, its pretty good, but there is little people there to talk to. Anyone is using it? For those who don't know, definitely check it out.
