My GF gave me her 80GB iPod Classic video this past weekend. It hadn't been used for several years, but it took a charge and powered up just fine. My iTunes recognized the unit the first time I plugged it in, but told me it needed to be restored. iTunes froze up while doing the restore and had to be restarted. The unit still powers up like normal and my computer recognizes it, but iTunes will not pick it up. Is there any way I can "trick" iTunes into recognizing it again? I've tried restarting iTunes, and restarting the computer, but it hasn't helped. I was really looking forward to using it, since I ran out of storage room on my Nano. Hopefully there is a way to fix it.
