Problem with trying to load earlier stories on ilounge homepage from iPad

I was wondering if it is my iPad, or the site? Looking through the main page on ilounge, and tapping previous articles does nothing for some reason. I cannot read any articles except what is on the first page. Anybody else having this issue? I don't have it on any other site.

iTunes Metadata Editor

Hi,



I wound up upgrading to iTunes 12 and am not happy about the changes made for editing the metadata. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a utility that would let me edit meta data for both videos and music. iTunes won't let me access a couple of the fields that I used for organizational purpose. I used to use Lostify for my TV files but now I need something that will all of my data. Most of the ones I've seen so far seem to focus on music.



Any and all suggestions would be welcome.

iphone 5s case- Not too slippery?

I'm getting an iPhone 5s. I have a 4s, and bought a cheapo BestBuy brand case that fit on it. It's rubber of some sort, and gives just enough friction so it's not slippery and easily slides into my cargo shorts leg pocket.



All the plastic cases I've seen for the newer iPhone are a bit hard, but more importantly, are SLIPPERY as oil to me.



Where can I find a cheap case that will slip over the iPhone 5s?

So i just got this Ipod 4th gen from Ebay. The jerk told me it worked perfectly and provided screen shots of it working. I get it and they bottom of the screen doesn't work so i cant unlock phone. Top screen and middle work fine. Any way around this lock slide?

Creating large playlists

Before I updated to iTunes 12, I could create large playlists (ones containing ~95% of my songs) by selecting all the tracks in my library, dragging them to the playlist, and then deleting the 5% of tracks that didn't belong in that playlist (or selecting all, deselecting the 5%, and then dragging). Now, it seems iTunes locks up whenever I try to drag and drop more than ~200 songs at a time - and copy and paste don't seem to work at all. What's the best way to work around these limitations?

Multiple albums since update

Folks,

The latest iTunes update caused the album view to show each album multiple times with 2 songs each. The first one has songs 1&2' the second 3&4 etc. how do I fix that?

How to tell if my mp3s have embedded artwork?

Hi all



I loaded a bunch of albums onto my iPod Classic using Foobar's iPod Manager (foo_dop). The mp3s on my PC do NOT have artwork embedded. Rather, there is a cover.jpg file per album stored in the folder along with the mp3s.



Everything is displaying fine on the iPod, so there is no issue as such. I am just trying to save as much space on the iPod as possible and so want to make sure that foo_dop did not embed the artwork whilst doing the transfer.



Is there any way I can check for sure?



[If it helps to know, in the preferences for foo_dop, I have "Add artwork to files sent to iPod" ticked. In source script I have "cover". The two items below this are unticked.]

On screen keyboard "twitchy" (for lack of a better term)

I recently acquired a used iPad 4. The seller assured me it was in perfect working order. Well, after having it for a couple of weeks now, I've come to find out it's only about 98%, which as we all know, is NOT perfect. And of course, the scum bag will not answer my e-mails asking him if he knew of the problem and conveniently "forgot" to mention it. :mad:



Anyway, when I use the on screen keyboard, which isn't often right now due to its problem, sometimes when I press a letter, it will show up twice (i.e., if I pres the "e" key, it shows up as "ee" on the screen). On a couple of rare occasions, it has done triple lettering. It's not too bad to deal with, unless I'm typing in a password; then it's a huge PITA.



I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this sort of problem, and if so, how did you correct it, if indeed it was correctable? It has the latest version of iOS on it, and I experienced the problem both before and after the update.



Any help / comments / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

iTunes keeps pausing

Hi,



Over the last couple of months my iTunes every so often would pause at some random point in a song for a second or so & continue ok, however the wait has become longer, it could be 20 - 40 secs now & not just one son here & there but nearly every track I play.

My iTunes library is on a external Hard drive which has its own power source



Any ideas would be appreciated as this is starting to annoy me

Titles Artists etc

Hi all, apologies if this is a dumb request but when it comes to things technical there is no dumber than myself.



I have for some time now been recording all my vinyl onto the computer then adding them to my Itunes Library. I create a playlist for every album and collection of singles. I then studiously do the "Get Info" bit and fill in all the record details, artist, title, genre etc. Then just to make doubly sure I then make a CD for evry album. This is a long and labour intensive excersise.



With this I mind I figured I should back up all that I have done so far (6000 songs) onto an external hard drive I have.



I followed instructions of how to do this and indeed Itunes Media is now on both the PC hard drive and the external drive.



However my problem is that all the music from Cd's (which Itunes recognises) has record details, all the stuff from Vinyl (the majority) is all filed under "Unknown Artist" and called Track 1, Track 2 etc.



What my concern is if (when) my PC ever broke and I had to buy a new one, yes I would have all the music on the external hard drive but none of it would be named. Is there a way round this.

Using iPod Classics on iTunes 9.2.1

Hi all



So, I'm not new to Macs at all, but I'm certainly no expert. I have a problem that appears not to be solvable.



I have several iPods Classics. Two of them are model MC293 with firmware 2.0.4 and the other is model MC293LL with 2.0.5. The latter will not sync with iTunes 9 but apparently requires iTunes 10.7. But iTunes 10.7 on my PPC Macs running Tiger is a no-go...



So, I tried to downgrade the firmware but iTunes 10.7 running on somebody else's Intel Mac, but this would not work because of some kind of restriction. Is there anything can be done here? Or, do I have to abandon iTunes completely? It's becoming pretty coercive nowadays...

iTunes thinks I have podcast episodes that I can't find

I subscribe to lots of podcasts through iTunes, sync them to my iPhone (running 8.1.2) and listen to episodes as they come in. I then delete them on iTunes and reysnc.

Sometimes I will download directly to the iPhone from the podcasts app and then delete them on the iPhone and iTunes when I've listened.

This normally works fine, but I find there are a few episodes that still appear in the listing on iTunes as available to be copied to iPhone. They don't appear on the Iphone podcast app either in My Episodes, Feed or Saved. And they aren't in the folder where iTunes stores the other episodes for the same programme. So I can't work out how to delete them, or why iTunes thinks they still exist.

Does anyone have any ideas about how I can delete them permanently?

Organsing iTunes CD library

Is there any way of or software to assist in organizing an iTunes library where I have ripped classical CDs please?



iTunes doesn't seem to recognise that Mozart is the same as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart or W A Mozart or Mozart, WA. It sprays his music all over my iTunes library. Even more so when it doesnt see the word MOZART and puts things like 'Best of Mozart' under B!! Surely "an evening with Joseph Hoffman", all of which is shown as Mozart in the CD tracks should be obviously listed with all the Mozart recordings in my library, not under E for evening!​



Secondly, How can I join CD sets together please? How on earth does it not recognise that CD 2 and 3 of an opera which are recorded at the same time are part of the same opera!! Especially where the album artwork is the same! And why does it manage sometimes to get one out of two or three CDs artwork different from the others??​



Sometimes it even says it has noted that CDs 2 and 3 are part of the same set: Surely there should be some way of joining them together manually if iTunes can't do it by itself?

Playlist/smart playlist for top charts

I am looking to try to make a smart playlist or regular playlist for Billboards or iTunes top music charts for music I have. I see some people mentioning they populate one of the fields (comments) of each song with the chart info. Can someone point somewhere explaining how to do this?

Is this the best/easiest way to do what I want?

I would like to be able to keep the list updated if possible but would like to just get the current chart playlist if possible.

Download full playlist to iphone

When I research this online there are references that explain to download a full playlist to the device, scroll to the bottom of the playlist and I can do this from there, but I don't see any indicator to download a full playlist. I don't want to have to choose each individual song and press the cloud button to download all of these. Am I missing something?

ITunes play count updates even though iphone sync fails

I'm a stat geek and love referring to the play count stats on my iTunes account.



However sometimes my iPhone will not sync properly (it either gets stuck at "waiting for changes to apply" or it just doesn't add new songs to the phone at the first attempt).



As a result I have to attempt a re-sync - sometimes several of them -before finally having success. It's a pain but something I have learned to live with.



The biggest problem for me is that I have noticed that every sync that I attempt - including failed ones - will update the play count on my iTunes account. Not good!!!! it basically renders my play count stats useless as I have absolutely no idea what the true numbers are.



Anyone else had this problem? If so have you managed to find a fix??

Mophie is a Crap Product.

I have been with Mophie using their Charging Cases for a year and a bit now, and i have to say, they are shocking.



All of my juicepacks have broke, and i have never ever received my money back or anything of the sort. Really quite frustrating.



I stumbled across however a different mobile phone charging case company called BOOSTPAK. They are an Australian based company and new to the market. I got a BOOSTPAK for my iPhone 6. Unlike Mophie, BOOSTPAK have already manufactured their iPhone 6 case and it is fantastic.



The case is slimline and fits nicely into your pocket, super light weight and charges my phone quickly and reliably.

Can't set EQ on shows anymore? (v12)

Up until my reluctant upgrade to v12 if I selected 2 or more t.v. shows or movies that I had ripped I could set an EQ preference through the Get Info -> Options settings. I can't do it any longer to a show but can still do it by selecting one or more songs. Have I missed something or does Apple think we no longer want that option? I couldn't figure out why I needed to select 2 or more shows when it only took 1 song but not having it at all sucks.

iPhone 6 text size issue

I have my text size jacked up very high so I can read sms and emails without glasses. I notice that on the iphone 6, if I compose a long text message, the bottoms of certain letters, the "Y" in particular, begin to dip out of sight below the keyboard after a certain point.



This did not happen on my iphone 4. Why is it happening now, and can I fix it?

Itunes Italy

I am trying to purchase some Italian music only available on the Italian ITunes. I have accessed the site and setup another user name and password and used a credit card but when I try to purchase the album it brings me back to the US ITunes. Itunes total reinstall HELP

Fingers crossed you experts can help me with this, My PC had to be totally rebooted this weekend to my suprise as the C drive developed a problem and needed replacing ASAP, Im hoping ALL is not lost as I have a separate HARD DRIVE that I store my library on, that is all intact,



I also Install the ITUNES program on the D drive, the D drive is also intact but ITUNES will not start at all the program files seem all there, but it just wont OPEN.....Its not a problem reinstalling ITUNES but I REALLY DONT WANT to have to import all the library back into the new Itunes install, all 120GB of it!!! :o , so heres the big question.



I once read on here there is a small FILE in the Itunes program that lists the library contents and its location etc etc. and copying that file into the NEW INSTALL will do the business tell the new install where all my music is stored etc etc, WILL THIS MAGIC file still be in the non working Itunes install, and if so whats its filename.......



My problem may be that there was a small Itunes file stored in the MY MUSIC folder in my C drive, the one thats had to be changed, and I have a gut feeling that was probably the one I need.

locked out of iPad

I turned on voiceover to have iPad read a book to me. Then I couldn't get voiceover off. So I totally shut down the iPad. Now when I try to turn it back on, and go to enter my 4-digit security code, voiceover reads the code to me, then tells me to swipe; but because a swipe means something different with voiceover on, it doesn't swipe the arrow to the right so the iPad won't go any further. How can I remedy this?

Mac iPhoto's to iPad

I have plenty of available space and synced my imac iPhoto library to my iPad 2. It's a relatively new imac just haven't updated to the very latest OS yet. I have pics dated back to the 1980s and before that were scans. I clicked the box to sync all pics from iPhoto, also tried selecting all boxes in the sync from select dates boxes and that didn't work either. On the iPad only the pics dated 2011 and later appear. In other words a lot of my photos are not syncing. Any ideas?

Ripping a library file from the iPod

Hi Guys,



My laptop recently died before I had a chance to backup my files and I have a good few months worth of playcounts and album rips that didn't make it to my external hard drive.



I bought some software called CopyTrans which loaded up an interface that showed all tracks, videos, playlists etc with playcounts etc and allowed me to select all of the information to a folder. It sorted it into folders in the iTunes way and gave me a _Ipod_Backup_Library.xml file.



Do I just need to rename and copy this to have all of my library with playcounts etc?

iTunes help: multiple artists tracks

:confused:



Hi, first time poster here...



I am fairly certain before there was a way in iTunes to display one track with multiple artists under different artists names.



For example say I have a track Eminem Ft Elton John...



When I am scrolling through artists I want that track to appear both under Eminem and Elton John, is there a way to do it?



I've tried putting them under separate tags separated by coma under album artists but instead that just creates a new artist entry "Eminem, Elton John".



Is there a way to do it, and sorry for a confusing explanation?

iPod Classic 160 gb audio not working

My 160gb iPod classic newest generation does not have audio. The unit just quit playing music through the headphone jack or docking station. It appears to be playing but he only sound is extremely staticky. Diagnostics all pass. Help is appreciated.

Data recovery help needed

Made the unfortunate mistake of forgetting my passcode (reset it a couple of weeks ago after getting a prompt from work and have been using TouchID since and couldn't remember it today).



Given I was locked out I tried to do a DFU restore and cancel it in the hope of getting it up again, but no luck. I now have a 'new' iphone, but am desperate to try and get some photos off – since my last backup was 2 months ago.



Does anyone know of any 'good' legit data recovery software that might allow extraction of photos from the phone. I could always jailbreak if there were better tools that required a jailbreak to work.

Help! Ipod classic Syncing Problems

I really hope somebody can help me with this. I have a 80gb 5th gen ipod classic, Version 1.3 Model MA448FB. It has 50GB of music on it from various sources, itunes, cds, downloaded from various sites etc. The computer it was originally synced with has long gone and now itunes wants to wipe everything off it and replace it with my current itunes library when i try to sync.



This means i would lose alot of the tunage on the ipod, which I don't have anywhere else. The ipod is still going but is getting gradually more damaged and I'm scared its going to give up the ghost one day!



I have tried a programme called "Sharepod" to somehow copy the music on the ipod to my laptop (samsung 7, windows 8) but it just crashed all the time.



If anybody could let me know how I can copy all of this music to somewhere and have access to it, I would be very grateful indeed! THANKS!

Rip CD to non-default location

I used Edit/Preferences/Advanced to set a new directory, because I had one CD I wanted ripped into a directory other than the iTunes default. After ripping the CD, I set it back to the default. Mainly, I just wanted to rip the CD without adding it to my iTunes library.



What a mess. The rip went OK, but the next time I plugged in my iPod, it synced 255 files, all stuff that had long already been in my iTunes library. There were other complications.



Questions:

1-Is there another way within iTunes to rip somewhere other than the default?

2-Does anyone have a preferred program other than iTunes for ripping?

Help, Ipod will not auto power on.

Hi, First post!!! Hope you can help.



I have an ipod older 80 gig. Well I have it connected to my car stereo 90 percent or more of its life, leave it locked in the glovebox, turn the car on, ipod turns on and away I go. For some reason l (I think I turned off an option) for the last month or so, when I turn on my radio my IPOD does not automatically turn on. I have to press any button, then the ipod turns on and it will connect. It works and all, but its annoying having to open my glovebox and press a button everytime I turn the car off.



I first tried a new cable, same issue.

I thought maybe it was the radio, well I have another car, and just got a new pioneer deck, and same thing. I have to press a button for it to turn on. Last night (after about a year) I connected it to my computer, and same thing. With it plugged in, it does not charge or light up..as soon as I press anybutton it turns on and connects right away, and will charge and everything else.



Any thoughts?? The only thing I can think of is I remeber uncehcking awhile back where it said open itunes when connected to a computer, but I changed that last night, and same issue. I might do a full restore next, but thought I would join and ask first.





Also, so I dont make a 2nd post. I used to have the playlist of recently added, but I no longer have that. How to I add the recently added playlist again?

After I download a podcast to my iPad, that podcast is then stored on the iPad, right? I do not have to redownload it to hear it again, right? And I can then listen to that podcast even when I am not connected to the web?



How do I terminate listening to an iPod? I don't see any Stop controls.

Another Odd Problem

So earlier this am I once again recorded another lp. Out of curiosity I decided to enter the Metadata. What this actually is Idk. But just to see I entered each track's info.



When I imported the files, all the stuff was there: artists, etc. I did not have to go thru each one and do it. "Great" I thought! So I then went to check how the lp would appear in the artists' and albums' selections and saw something odd...



Instead of one album with 19 tracks and 19 artists I have 19 albums with each artist listed separately from the others. Before I delete these and start over is there a way to fix this? Idk how to alter the metadata so I may just has to redo the whole thing.

Old Ipod No Longer Recognized by PC or iTunes?

I've got a very old iPod MA477 Nano that when connected to my Windows 7 PC is no longer recognized in My Computer or iTunes.



I followed the advice on this page but it was ho help:

iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

as the device isn't showing up in the Windows Device Manager.



The iPod is charging via USB on the computer OK.



I've tried other cables and computers.



Update: I tried a different iPod on the same computer and that was recognized.



It was working fine, then one day it stopped!



Any ideas?

Adding songs to a new iPod Classic

I have an older 80GB Classic and I am easily able to manually add songs to the iPod by dragging them from Windows File Explorer to the Music portion of the iPod in the iTunes program.



My wife has a new 160GB iPod Classic and I'm trying to add songs to her iPod and am getting very frustrated. The drag and drop doesn't seem to be working. I tried to sync a small number of songs to see if the would work and it just synced some of the songs that are on my older iPod.



Here's what I want to do:

-I have file folder on my Windows computer with all of my songs.

-I have a different folder on my Windows computer with all of my wife's songs.

-I want to manually drag songs from my Windows folder to my iPod (that works)

-I want to manually drag songs from my wife's Windows folder to her iPod (that doesn't work)



I have iTunes 12.0.1.25

The software on my wife's iPod is 2.0.5

The software on my iPod is 1.0.3



In the iTunes summary page, I have the "Manually manage music and videos" checked. However, when I try to drag and drop a song to my wife's iPod, I get a red circle with a slash through it when dragged to iTunes. When I eject the iPod and close iTunes and reload both, "Manually manage music and videos" is no longer checked.



What am I doing wrong?????

An Odd Problem

Ok so today I copied a few old lps using Audacity and saved the individual music tracks as mp3 files in the Libraries>Music section (I use Windows 7). Then I use the Import File option to import said mp3 files into the iTunes library itself. I then use the Recently Added option in Playlists to tweak files with artist, album title, etc. Then I went to delete the music files from the Libraries>Music section and poof...now the iTunes cannot find them and cannot play them. So I restore all back the Libraries>Music section and now iTunes can play them.



Thing is I have followed this same procedure for months and this has never happened. I have always thought that iTunes would in essence copy music files when the Import selection is used into its' file. Am I wrong? Cause this seems to be using the music files from the their original location in the Libraries>Music section. I don't want to fill that up with dozens of more lps that I have here.



Where am I going wrong?

Deleting Songs

Hi guys.

My Ipod classic 80gb keeps deleting all my songs for some reason. Over the past 4 months it has done this multiple times. Every now and again it will reset and when it comes back on all my songs have been deleted. Its fully updated and ive uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times and synched it but it keeps happening. To delete this song, I have to switch to my library, and delete an entry in the Group area that adds this song to the playlist.....or, I have to switch over to My Library, click on the Smart Playlist, and edit the formula.

Well, I have a Soundlink 2, it worked perfectly. But a while ago I lost my cable and adapter (I think it's 17V or 19V and 1A). So I used an adapter from my Qumi Q2 projecter which looks the same and has 19V 3.42. Then it worked fine, though I was a bit unsure if this is good. Then the other day, since I found an extra adapter from my old laptop, which looks the same too, I plugged it to the Bose Soundlink. The adapter is 19V 3.95A. Then it worked. But in 2 days, when I try to use it again, the bluetooth no longer worked,I tried to remove and pair it to all my devices, none worked, couldn't even find it when scanning for bluetooth device. Also, the charging no longer works, no matter if I use the 19V 3.42A adapter or the 19V 3.95A adapter... What can I do? I bought this a few years ago, and don't think the warrant is still valid if I can find it. Do you think it would help to sent it to get fixed? Thanks

iPhone 4S - Audio through headphones while on a dock?

Is it possible to have audio come out through the headphone port while it is connected to a dock?



Currently, I have a Sony iPhone dock/speaker in my room, BUT..I want to (eventually) add in a T-amp and proper speakers for better sound, AND I want a way to keep my iPhone (or an older iPod touch) plugged in.



I was thinking that I could somehow use the power from the ipod dock to keep it charged, while the audio goes out to the T-amp/speakers.



I don't really want to have a 3rd power cord connected to my power bar as the dock is available. Plus I simply wouldn't have any room left as we all know - a lot of thee devices have monstrous wall-warts.



So, I just want the ipod dock that I currently have to send power to my iPhone/iPod touch, while being able to play audio from the headphone port.

Logitech Type+ neither fits nor works . . .

with iPad Air 2: the camera opening is sorely misaligned with the iPad lens; the iPad will not turn on the unit, despite being properly docked to the magnet; and, with the unit powered on via the USB to a desktop, an iPhone 6 (running 8.1) does not recognize the Type+ Bluetooth. Finishing synching

Hi, I am having trouble synching my iPod touch. When I connect my iPod to my pc via usb, I click on synch, it does its stuff then hangs on finishing synching for ages, 4hrs yesterday, I had to force shutdown on my pc to get out of it. External Drive Backup to iTunes

Hi, I'm looking for some help. I have a lot of media stored in iTunes - movies, tv shows, music - in total, when looking at the info provided by the iTunes app, I have about 2 tbs.



I have all of this stored on an external usb hard drive and it works just fine.



My question is, when I look to see how much of my hard drive space is used, the answer is 2.75 tbs, not the 2 tbs suggested by the iTunes app.



I've looked for duplicates on the HD but couldn't find any.



Any ideas on what might be going on?

Heaadphone amp/DAC help

Just bought a quality pair of over ear headphones, and would like to use their potential when connected to my Ipod Classic 120gb. So i have been looking at a basic amp/dac

Pause / Restart Shuffle Play

I have about 3000 songs categorized as Christmas genre in my library. Starting around the day after Thanksgiving I shuffle play this genre in iTunes until New Year’s Day so I have the opportunity to listen to all of my Christmas music during the holidays. However, during this period if, well when, I stop shuffle play to hear something else, when I go back to shuffle play of this genre can I force it to only play songs that I haven’t been played before, basically pick up shuffle play where I left off ? I’m all ears if you have a suggestion on a different method I can employ to shuffle play my entire Christmas song collection and retain the ability to pause play to listen to sometime else, and return to where I left off….

I can easily create a playlist of my favourite tracks, but I'm looking for a way to create a playlist of my most favourite albums, say where the average track rating is 4 stars or above.



Conversely, I'm also looking for a way to create a playlist of my least favourite albums - so I can remove them from my library.



Does anyone have any idea how this can be achieved?

ipod touch 2nd generation videos from itunes not going on it?

I recently inherited a 2nd generation ipod touch. I know its old and outdated but I thought for sure I would be able to put the videos I bought from itunes on it. Some will go and some will not. Why is that? I get a message saying they are not compatable, I wasted my money then!:confused::confused::confused:

Synching podcast app

Looking for a podcast app: I want:

1. to 'control' podcasts from my iMac (10.9.5)… subscribe, add, delete and download etc


2. to synch from either Mac or iPhone (6 Plus, iOS 8.1) and have the podcasts which I've downloaded at home available on my iPhone


3. not to have to stream podcasts via cellular data

iTunes/Podcasts.app is buggy; InstaCast doesn't allow transfer from iMac to iPhone; DownCast doesn't synch properly - at least not until Yosemite.



Any suggestions, please?

how to package an audiobook

We're a very small company that produces audioguides, which are just audiobooks that you listen to as a guide, onsite.

Our products are currently packaged in zip files which works well on PC and Android platforms when you know how to unzip.

But, while some of our iPhone customers have been able to download and unzip and play our guides, I have two questions:

1. Is there a defacto standard app that will unzip on an iPhone?

2. Is there a better way to package the various tracks of the audioguide - better than zip? One complicating factor is that we also include a pdf booklet with the download. When you download an audiobook from Audible, I don't think is comes in as a zip file...but however it does come in, it has to be in the proper order (ie Chapter 1, followed by Chapter 2, etc)

iPad Mini went swimming. Touchscreen won't respond... is it fixable?

My iPad mini took a quick swim this weekend.



It still powers on and the screen looks good, all buttons work. It syncs fine.



But, the touchscreen won't respond.



Is there a chance it'll still dry out from this weekend and work again?



Is it just the digitizer, or what might have been damaged? Is it fixable? I found a screen repair online for $100, while a new iPad mini would run me $250. But, can a water damaged screen really be fixed?

Help finding adapter/converter cable for Charging/Speaker Dock

I have the following Sony Speaker Dock: Amazon.com : Sony RDPX500iP Dock for iPod, iPhone and iPad : MP3 Players & Accessories



Recently, I had to upgrade my 3rd Gen iPod Touch to a 5th Gen, because understandably after 5-6 years it needed a battery and was running very slow. I used the Sony speaker dock linked above ^ for about 2 years with the 3rd Gen iPod. The speaker still works great, is basically the equivalent of the Bose Sounddock, and it was $250-300 when I got it. I don't want to have to buy the newer model of this speaker just b/c Apple needed to change the dock connector from 30 pin to 8 pin. The speaker does have an auxiliary connection, and yes, I can use an audio cable to connect the iPod to listen only. However, I'd like to be able to use the speaker as originally intended, which would be the ability to listen and change simultaneously again.



I've tried this adapter: Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m) - Apple Store (U.S.) in conjunction with a regular (male to male) audio cable. Using those two cables, I can only make the choice to charge or play. It appears that the only way I can achieve both functions simultaneously again would be to use a cable such as this one: Audio Adapter Converter for iPhone 5 5S 5c Apple Lightning 8 Pin to 30 Pin Dock | eBay



So, my question is... Does anyone know where I can find a converter cable like the one shown on eBay or something similar, but purchase it in store somewhere here in the US? I've called Apple presenting the situation, and they haven't been able to find one. It does seem like the converter from eBay will work with the speaker, but I'm weary of buying something like this from half way across the world on eBay. I'm sure many have had this problem with accessories since the change of 30 pin to 8 pin dock connector, so I'm curious to get thoughts/opinions on whether there's some way to make this work and a reputable store to buy the cable. What have the nuts at Apple done to Wish List?

Does anyone know if there's any way to see the rest of my album wish list without having to delete the most recent entries one at a time?



Making the Wish List only show the most recent 32 and having no "see all" button any more has got to be one of the most moronic changes Apple has ever made to iTunes. I hate iTunes enough already as a music management tool that I only use it to manage my iPhone and to buy stuff from the iTunes store. This "improvement" may stop me from buying from iTunes any more. I was so happy when they took away the item limit a few versions back, but this is an inexplicably foolish, gigantic step backward. I guess it's back to buying real CDs from Amazon since they have a shopping cart and wish list that work the way normal people would expect.

iTunes wont leave my genres alone

Hi all, new member here,



I've been using iTunes for over 10 years now, but I am currently fed up with one perennial problem that I've never been able to find a fix for. It is almost enough for me to consider moving to an entirely different platform.



I have very carefully created a set of Genres for my music collection. Every time I add music to my collection, sorting it into the correct genre is something I spend time doing. This works fine with songs I've added from ripping CDs or converting my old record albums, however it does not work at all with songs I purchased from the iTunes store.



It seems that every time I visit the iTunes store, every song I ever purchased from them are reset to the original genres that they had when I downloaded them. These are generally meaningless to me - overbroad genres such as "Pop", "Rock", "Pop/Rock", etc. Music wildly mismatched, with (for example) light orchestral music by Mantovani and the like being classified as "Rock" or "Classical" seemingly at random.



Now, my original genre classifications are not lost. If I click on the song and "Get Info", my changes are visible, and when I click "OK", my info becomes visible. But I have over 1200 songs I purchased, and doing this for each song after visiting the iTunes store is a major hassle.



Another problem I have with this is that visiting the iTunes store also resets the "Year" field. The iTunes Store doesn't date a song by the year it was released, like normal people would do, but rather by the last time the record company released it (or renewed the copyright). So I have situations where the Doors "Light My Fire" and the Turtles "Happy Together" are listed as having been released in 2008. The latest version of iTunes doesn't seem to retain my corrections for Years, so it looks like I will have to manually change that again.



Does anyone know of a solution for this? If I can't find a solution, I am tempted to switch to a different platform altogether, one that will allow me to manage my collection without interference.

Is it possible to run itunes from an external drive? The reason I ask is that my wife's imac is getting full up with music. Alternatively, can I remove the music from the imac and leave it on an ipod? If I do this and sync the ipod what would happen?

MEMORY QUESTION driving me nuts!

Hi, all ---



I could really use your assistance with something that is making me feel rather stooooopid!



I wanted to upgrade my iOS....tells me I don't have enough memory. I tried to leave my iPad in the video recording mode when I left today to vid my new puppy and, yup, "not enough memory. In fact, NOW it tells me I don't even have enough memory to "take a picture."



Here's the thing: I have 2G total, 13.6 "available." I have no idea how to work around this. I would delete and restore stuff, but it's telling me I have over 13 gigs left.



What the (#&$&%(#($%&%^^*# am I missing??! :mad: :confused: :shake:

Advice please on an all-day headset

Hello,

My Wife uses her iPhone 5C all day and is asking for a better headset/microphone. Can you suggest one that is comfortable over the ear (one or both), and has a microphone that somewhat cancels outside noise. (like from the other cubicles). Chord to the phone is fine, bluetooth is an option.

App is forcing itself to install when syncing to iTunes

I hope this hasn't been discussed in other threads. If it has, my apologies for starting another thread. I just can't think of the proper search terms.







iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1 sycning to iTunes 12.0.1.26, but I think this problem was happening on my old 5S and earlier software and I didn't put it together until now.



The Problem:

When I connect my phone to iTunes and sync, the Houzz app is forcing itself to install. I've deleted it from my phone. In the Apps section of iTunes I make sure that its not showing WILL INSTALL, but, still, every time it gets to that point it insists on forcing itself to install.







I've Googled around and I'm not finding anything on this kind of problem.



Any help is appreciated, but please dumb it down. As you can probably tell from my description of the problem I'm not a computer or Apple genius.

Manually manage music in iTunes

I have Voice Memos that I want to delete from iTunes and my iPhone. I see that if I "Manually manage music" in iTunes it will allow me to delete voice memos.



So I did that and then synced my iPhone and the voice memos that I deleted were off my iTunes and iPhone.



Then I unchecked "Manually manage music" and all deleted memos were synced back to iTunes and iPhone.



What is the downside to leaving "Manually manage music" checked at all times?

Music app: cover art problems and more with iOS 8

I've never had any problems with the Music app, but since the launch of the new iOS it seems like there has been a few problems in the Music app.



- The cover art is the wrong one

- The cover art doesn't show up at all

- Some songs from an artist are under another artist



All of those were fine before the new iOS 8. Everything is also fine in iTunes (the tags and covers are all correct).

I tried removing the songs from iTunes, re-adding them and re-syncing. That didn't solve anything.



What can I do to fix these problems?

Need Educational Game App for Nephew!

Hi guys,



I posted this in the iPhone thread as well, but I have an iPad as well.



I have a nephew that is growing up really fast and all he wants to do is learn! This is awesome, but he only wants to do it through iPhone games as he doesn't want to spend time reading or doing "any of that boring stuff."



He realllllllly likes this game that I found called Call to Knowledge:FLV, but a young kid can only stay amused with an app for so long, regardless of how much they like it.



I know pretty soon he is going to want to move on to a different one, but I cant find any game that he would like as much as likes that one. All of the educational games that I find are boring and slow and he needs something fast and intense to stay focused and have fun.



By the way, if you know or have any kids that like iPhone games, I'd highly recommend that Call to Knowledge:FLV game. It has wizards and dragons and all sorts of fun stuff for kids, and its educational!



Right now it can teach Spanish, French, and German, but I have heard a full version with other subjects is coming soon. So hopefully if I cant find a new app for him, this full version will come out so I wont be stressing out trying to keep him entertained haha.

I know pretty soon he is going to want to move on to a different one, but I cant find any game that he would like as much as likes that one. All of the educational games that I find are boring and slow and he needs something fast and intense to stay focused and have fun.



By the way, if you know or have any kids that like iPhone games, I'd highly recommend that Call to Knowledge:FLV game. It has wizards and dragons and all sorts of fun stuff for kids, and its educational!



Right now it can teach Spanish, French, and German, but I have heard a full version with other subjects is coming soon. So hopefully if I cant find a new app for him, this full version will come out so I wont be stressing out trying to keep him entertained haha.

Incoming iPhone call show up

I have recently noticed that whenever I have an incoming call on my i-Phone 5c, there is an alert on the home page of my i-Pads and i-Pod Touch. How can I get these alerts to stop on these other devices?

transferring photos from iTouch to laptop

newer iTouch how do you guys transfer your photos from the camera roll on your iTouch to your laptop?



I'd love to be able to just drag and drop them off the iTouch into my ext HD like I used to be able to do on my older iTouch. But that doesn't seem to be an option now with the newer one.



any suggestions? (i'd rather not go through iPhoto)

Listening Music While Running???

I am an Athlete and I wish to buy iPhone 5 Running Armband to listen songs while running. It should be authentic and should look sporty and classic. One I cam across on rizeonlineshop(dot)com and it is handsome but I am in dilemma to buy this due to quality factor.

How can anyone provide such a beautiful Armband in just $17.95. Is anyone here who has used this armband from this site? I need an expert advice and if there is someone who can provide me the Armband in less than this amount then plz let me know...
