iTunes/iPod problems

Lately my iTunes gives an error about another program is registered as my burning software. That hasn't bothered me much cuz I rarely burn. It's just the annoyance of having to click through the error. Now, when I sync my pod (iPod touch 5 gen) Some audio books won't sync and those that do have no covers. Ok, so I uninstalled iTunes (and everything related) and reloaded iTunes. Same errors and same problems. So, I uninstalled everything again. Now I'm here trying to uninstall everything but a lot is still here. I want to get a fresh install, it doesn't matter if I have to reload everything. What do I need to do to get a "clean" install and then I*'ll work on getting pod emptied and start all over from scratch.
