Hi all. New to iPad world, and trying to understand the various options, and relative pros and cons, regarding sourcing, managing and accessing ebook content. I have tried searching the forums and found little to assist me, and the specific forum on 'books and the spoken word' seems pretty much exclusively about audiobooks and hasn't had any new posts for a few months anyway...
My knowledge so far is that iBooks looks like a cool environment but, comparatively speaking, has limited content and that content is generally more expensive - certainly as expensive as say an old-school novel from a bookshop or on-line bookstore. I have very briefly looked at the Kindle app, expecting that Amazon's sheer weight of content both keeps prices lower than ordering in old-school books from the internet, and may provide an easy platform for carrying around digital content, but not as nicely as iBooks presents.
I don't know if those are accurate summaries or if I know just enough after a few hours to be exactly wrong:)...
So, apologies if I am posting in the wrong place but insight into what has or has not worked for anyone in the past would be appreciated.
