I have a ipod touch 4th gen.
the battery just shows tiny small red bar / line on itm, does not charge. after a hour or so, feel warm to the back,
itunes does not find my ipod, except for if I put it into dfu and then it starts to restore it. however, i then get the 1601 error code,
I have looked with a magnifier glass at connectors, they look good. I cleaned tho to be sure.
tried different cords.
So, my thoughts are what do you guys who have seen this or have worked on them allot, think ?
Is it just my battery ? does anyone have a link how to check the volts and amps on it ? before removal of the battery ?
I thoght, even if I had a bad battery, I could still get it to load and turn on thru itunes ? is this not correct ?
I used redsnow to get it into and ensure I was in DFU mode, this unit is not jailbroken and have no plans too, but redsnow, sometimes comes in handy for restores and dfu.
I want to see if I have provided enough info, to get some good solid input.
Cuz I want to really feel this is a bad battery, before i go replacing it, i have only replaced batteries on gen 2 and gen 3. not the gen 4.
Do you guys think its a bad battery ? or something else more likely going on here ?
Please reply, if you have seen this issue before.
I seen the utube video of same issue and they replaced the battery and resolved issue 4 them. but i like to here something from someone with allot more exp with them.
