Titles are still in codes

Transferred songs from my Ipod to my Windows Desktop via the ipod_control method. Deleted all the songs from my ipod. Transferred songs from my desktop to my Ipod, and the songs are still in codes (DIWO, ASKE, KDIE, etc...etc....). What the heck? What's going on? I thought they will auto change back? *sigh*
