This iPod is being sold *AS-IS* because for some reason it will not load more than 69

I recently bought a 7th gen Ipod classic 160gb on ebay and only thing wrong with it is they say This iPod is being sold *AS-IS* because for some reason it will not load more than 694 songs and it is the 7th gen 160GB model any ideas why ?
