Loss of PC requiring a rebuild..reconcile ITunes music please?

Hi folks I’m sure this is a well-worn chestnut I am hoping someone can help me remedy a problem I have. I recently had my PC crash on me resulting in data loss and rebuild. Thankfully my ITunes music was stored on an external hard drive. I have downloaded and installed ITunes again. Could someone please provide some advice on how I reconcile my ITunes database with my ITunes music library. Am I correct in assuming that I’ll loss all my playlists etc. Thanks in advance..
