Am having an insuperable problem with replacing a screen in a 4th Gen Touch
I have done these successfully before but with this one, the screen cable is just too short to connect to the chassis, - just before plonking the screen assembly back into the chassis.
I notice others have made reference to having to push the connector in with a tool because they cant press it in while the screen is at right angles to the chassis because their cables are too short. But with mine even if i get connectivity and do manage to drop the screen back into the chassis, the cable seems to be so short that it just pops out again almost immediately
Has anyone else come across such an el-cheapo screen assembly or am I doing something wrong please?
There is a dent in the casing which prevents the screen from going quite all the way back into the chassis and lying completely flush with the outer edge of the case but I don't think that is the problem. Does everyone disagree?
