truglide apex

I just read the article here about the truglide apex stylus and needed to post my view. I recently bought the apex two days ago for general drawing while out and about and away from my mac or pc. I noticed when drawing a line at an angle, lets say 45 degrees, the apex doesn't draw a straight line but more like steps; at the time I was using an asus transformer tf701t and thought it's because it's not an ipad i'm using. Forgot to mention the apps I was using, autodesk sketchbook pro and artrage. So, I got the ipad (retina) out and tried the pen again, it's a shame but the same thing happened with the ipad, still drawing steps rather than a straight line. So I then thought, is it the apps and not the pen, so I bought a different pen (logiix stylus aluminum pro) that has the more bulbous tip, that worked fine on both the asus and ipad tablets; tried both pens on my note3, same thing, apex draws squiggly lines, logiix doesn't.

Maybe Truglide needs to update their pen to reflect the price tag, for now, I'll stick with the logiix.

Transferring iTunes library to new PC

I want to transfer my iTunes library which currently resides on a WinXP SP3 PC running iTunes 11.2.2.3 to a new PC running Win 8.1 Pro with the latest version of iTunes 11.4.0.18. The new PC has an SSD drive as C: and an HDD as D:. I want the library to reside on the D: drive.



The installation of iTunes on the new PC has set the iTunes media folder location to C:\Users\John\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media. Is there any naming convention I should follow in creating a folder on my D: drive ?



On the XP PC I have folders containing MPEG-4 Audio files at a folder path of ...\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\artist... Do I copy iTunes Music and associated folder and file structure to an external drive and then copy it into iTunes Media on the new PC to complete the transfer, or are there other steps I need to follow ?

"find my iPhone" linked to device or number?

I lost my phone, went on "find my iPhone" app and locked it. Tracked it. It was turned off. I then sent an erase. I got a new phone the next day (keeping my phone number and linking my new phone to the iCloud). My question, If my iPhone was off while I made the changes, would my old phone have been erased? (Someone found the old phone and called me, and I wonder if my info is on there still.)

Ipad iCloud ID locked

My email provider close:confused::confused::confused::confused:. Change my email in the apple ID, update the password. However my ipad mini does not work iCloud account. Update the ID, iMessage, FaceTime correctly but NOT to iCloud. No restores because I enter the old password and ID but I does not work with either the new or the old. The ipad does not sync because all the space I remain locked in Other. Please help. In Colombia the technical support is not online or by phone or chat.

I'm looking for a rugged case for the iPhone 6 that is fairly easy to remove. I like the Otterbox Defender but it's difficult to get on and off. I generally prefer to use the phone without a case but I'm interested in something for "special occasions" when the environment is too rough for an unprotected phone.

ipod ipad and emails

I use virgin media email and incredimail email client.I have email set on my iphone and ipad to pop3. what i would like to happen is that the emails are received on my pc (in incredimail) and on my iphone and ipad. I then would like to be able to delete emails as required from my iphone and ipad but keep them on my pc. I was using imap but when I deleted from my iphone they all disappeared from my pc so I went back to pop3 but now some emails that arrive on my iphone do not arrive on my pc. Am I expecting too much or is there a setting that will achieve what I want. Hope someone can help

iOS 8.0.2 issues on iPone 6+ and also a wish

I am seeing some problems in iOS 8.0.2 on iPhone 6 + 128GB.



I don't know if this is a facebook issue or iOS issue. When I am listening to music, and browsing facebook, if I watch a video that is on a third party website, when the video plays, it does not stop playing music. I hear the music and the sound from the video at the same time. This didn't happen on my 5C with iOS 7.





Also involving facebook, sometimes when I reply to a post, the reply box floats up to the middle of the screen and the keyboard does not appear. If I randomly tap the bottom of the screen it types into the reply box, so it appears the keyboard is there, but invisible. I haven't pinned down when exactly this happens.



This is an iOS 8 issue - when swithching between portrait and landscape modes in an app then go back to portrait mode on the home screen, sometimes if I double click the home button to get to the app switcher, the iPhone thinks I am in the landscape orientation, and the screen shots of the open apps are stacked on top of each other instead of side by side, and the screenshots are in landscape mode.



Finally a wish - are they EVER going to allow separate screen orientation locks for music playing and general phone usage. I HATE that wile in MUSIC, turning the phone brings up the albums view, or a single random album with track listings. This keeps interrupting what I am listening to because my fingers touch the screen. I want to keep music as if in portrait mode, but allow the screen to rotate with everything else.

Random Shuffling of Artwork on Ipod

A lot of the artwork on my ipod is shuffled for some reason. Album covers for certain bands are randomly appearing under other different artists. Everything is fine with the artwork in ITunes itself it's just on the ipod that the artwork is shuffled. I first noticed this after my daughter was listening to my ipod. I have tried resynching the ipod with iTunes but it does not resolve the issue. How would I go about fixing the artwork on the ipod?

120GB classic questions

I have had my 120GB classic for at least five years now and its been very reliable, I havent used it for six months or so, but have started using it again, one thing I noticed is that it seems noisy, Im assuming when its accessing the hard drive. I dont know if its me not having used it for six months and forgetting its noises, or it could actually be on its way out....what do you experts reckon.



Also would a failing Ipod's sound quality worsen. or is it a case of if the ipod is playing the quality is constant till it wont play ?

I have had a 160gb Classic, and just bought another to throw in a drawer for when mine dies. I opened it and synced up to test it, fully charged it. Now ready to store away for that day it will be needed. My question is should I drain the battery all the way down before storing it away? Thanks.

Podcast not working through iTunes store--kind of...

I'm sorry! First post; couldn't find my exact problem elsewhere here, so hopefully someone has a clue!



I have a podcast feed, and it's up to date, and it's updated and working everywhere I try--including if I "manually" subscribe through menu options in iTunes.



But when I try to preview the latest two podcasts (episodes 11 & 12), it won't allow it. I also can't download those two episodes through the store or through the apple/iTunes podcast app.



All the other episodes are fine (I can download them, etc.), and like I said, I can even access episodes 11 &12 through other means.



At this point--any ideas?



Other information: I had originally tried to set a "future publish" date, so I set the one episode to publish in a few days (09/29 to be exact). That seems to be what has caused this, but my worry is that since then, I've re-done the feed and fixed all the publish dates. But iTunes still has those original publish dates, including the future one.



Is that my problem? Do I just have to wait until that future date, and then both the episodes will "unlock"?



My other worry: I'm sure I can't be the only one who's made a mistake like this. If this is indeed the problem, there isn't any way to update what iTunes takes from the .xml file? Like I said, I've updated it, but iTunes doesn't even seem to ackknowledge the new information.

cloud and sync issues

Hi there - sorry bit of a luddite and looking for some advice - i have a 80gb ipod classic which has not been synced for a while - my laptop blew up and while i have a new one (windows) and i have icloud back up when i tried to sync my old ipod (with about 5000 songs) with the library on the new laptop it only wanted to replace the current ipod library with the songs actually downloaded onto the new laptop - ie the songs in the icloud would not have been transferred and i would have 'lost' 4500 songs ! i have an iphone so can use that i know but like the idea of the ipod having all the songs in one place - is there something obvious i am not doing? any help or tips appreciated thanks

I will tell you what happened to me last year when I was visiting the US:



The iPhone 5S was release a few weeks before I started a roadtrip through California. While we were traveling through the closed national parks (shutdown was going on during these days) I was trying to find out where I could buy an iPhone 5S for my dad. Because of the huge demand for this new iDevice it was really hard to find a store which had a iPhone 5S in stock. It wasn't important if it would be gray or white or with 16GB or 32GB, I just wanted to get one :p



I had to check the websites of Apple and Bestbuy and so on for the availability information provided there. This was very annoying because it was pretty annoying to look up the information for every single product configuration (color and memory) for every zip code we came through.



Back home I thought about a solution and because of my work as a web app programmer I started a new project in my spare time called iDeviceChecker.com. This webapp shows the availability information of iDevices as the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus for the major stores on a nice Google map. You can also filter for a special product configuration to find out which store in your neighborhood has the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus in stock right now.

Headset compatible mixer or audio interface

my friend and I are looking to start our own podcast. We both invested in USB input headsets with mics. We quickly found out Audacity will only record one input at a time. we were looking to find an audio interface that would accept multiple USB inputs. We have now decided to switch to standard 3.5 inputs and are looking for an acceptable audio interface or mixer. We would like to find a mixer or audio interface that can accommodate three or more people, in case we have guests later on. We would also prefer it have a USB output to the computer. We have looked at a few of the Behringer Xenyx models and are not sure if we plug the headsets in if we would get both mic and headphones to work. anyone have a good suggestion of a mixer or audio interface that we could use. Any other suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We're trying to keep the budget below $200 that matters.

7th Gen Nano won't play songs and keeps re-booting

Help Help Help...Please

I am the not so proud owner of a 7th gen Nano bought in June of this year. I have a 3, 000 song library from a variety of sources that play flawlessly on itunes and worked fine when I first purchased my 7th gen Nano. Not long after I came to notice a few files would not play and caused the Nano to re-boot. I didn't take this too seriously at first and just figured the files were corrupt. Then I noticed that choosing any menu other than artist or song would also cause the Nano to re-boot. Now it seems that almost nothing works with the exception of a few songs that I stumbled across in trying to find a fix for this. Songs purchased at the istore are somewhat affected. At first they were the only songs willing to work and now some play and some do not. I eventually swapped out that Nano at the Apple store and the new one did exactly the same thing the first time I synched it. I have gone through countless resets, restores as well as uninstalling and re-installing itunes. Thinking something happened to my files I tried fixit software such as mp3val which mostly gives me messages such as "truncated files" or "garbage" at the end of the song. It claims to have re-built and repaired the files I tested, but they still don't work. I should mention as well that all songs without exception play perfectly on my Nano 1st gen. What I don't understand is why the files would work for a period of time and then just stop all at once. I suspect the problem is with my files, (I think) but what do I look for, and if so, why would they work on the 1st Gen? I can't seem to find any commonality that would give me a clue as to what's happening here. Maybe a recent Apple update created an issue? Apple tech or Engineering hasn't been particularly helpful as they simply provide me with cookie cutter answers and wish me "lotsa luck". To compound the problem, I can't seem to find anything on the internet relating to this specific problem. Anything you can help with would be greatly appreciated.

Check their Facebook page for all the unhappy folks having issues with spigen and their lack of customer support. They are completely ignoring their customer's requests and not offering any time of communication or explanation to their failed non existent support.

iOS 8 update iPhone problem

Hi All



I've just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 8 and it's all gone a bit pear-shaped. The update process failed first time round then my iPhone showed the screen which says I should connect to iTunes. I did this and iTunes gave me the option to either set it up as a new phone or restore using an old backup. I chose restore, the process completed successfully, but now I can't connect my phone to iTunes. I get the same screen as before, i.e. Set up as new iPhone or Restore from backup. I've tried the restore option a few times, and updated to the latest iTunes version but nothing works.



My phone is working OK, but all my apps are gone. My texts and contacts seem to be there, as do my pics. Half my music has gone though. None of these are a major issue as I can manually put everything back, like the apps etc. I just can't do it though, as iTunes doesn't seem to recognize my iPhone.



Any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2. Ringtones - I'm looking for an app that lets you assign or set an MP3 file as a ringtone without the use of iTunes.

3. Video player - A good media player that plays excellent movies with various media format compatibility?

4. Photo sharing - I'm looking for an app that has good and simple editing tools and at the same time has the ability to share to more services directly & on-the-fly to Google Drive, Dropbox, Email, etc.?

General iOS8 queries

Hiya. I'm kind of tempted to get an iPhone (the 5S) now that iOS8 is out. Heard of some new features & improvements so i wanted to find out here about some other things:



1. Photos - I found out on my iPad Air post-iOS8 that one can only send a limited amount of photos and share/forward it to services such as Mail, Facebook, Flickr and pretty much that's it. Can't even send it to Google Drive, Whatsapp or Dropbox. is this true for the iPhone? Do i haveneed to go to the app itself to upload these files such as photos?

2. Handoff - I have a Macbook Air with the latest OS X Mavericks. Can i now send files (such as .pdf, .doc, .mp4 or .mp3 format) from my Macbook via Airdrop to an iPhone?

3. Music player - I heard the only improvements is the ability to delete entire albums (and same goes with individual songs) via a swipe action? Is creating a Playlist still as easy (i.e. on-the-fly) as before or is it faster & better? Still no customisable equalisers?

4. Widgets & Apps - I am interested to know whether it is now possible to answer messages from 3rd-party apps such as Whatsapp, Viber, Kik or Facebook Messenger directly from the lock screen or Notifications area on iOS8? And can one customise a widget that is built-in on the Notifications area? (e.g. Weather, Stocks, News, Wikipedia, Youtube, etc.)

5. Camera - Does the camera have minor improvements when it comes to stability? And does the 5S record in mono or full stereo? In what format? And are the videos compressed in a way that i can share/upload them easily to Google Drive or Dropbox?

6. Is there an offline mode for Safari so i can still read what i have read earlier even without 3G/4G/Wifi signal?

7. Security - I know Apple is prime in this topic. But if i lost/misplace my iPhone or if it got stolen can i remotely wipe the data of my phone and retrieve that data via iCloud? e.g. A very important text message or a .pdf file sent via whatsapp.

Family Sharing iOS8....A Step Backwards?

So I am reading about the new iOS 8 Family Sharing and wondering if there is any advantage to me setting this up? We have 4 family members that each have an iPhone and iPad, all of the devices share my user name\PW in regards to iTunes\App Store and it seems to work very well. The only disadvantage I see with this is that I have to give my kids my password but we have been doing this for many years with no issues. It appears that the Family Share requires developers to opt in before we can share apps which to me is a step backwards. Am I missing something or is the current method we use still the best method?

Ipod Touch to DSL wired modem?

Hi All, I have DSL with a wireless modem. Everything works fine upstairs, but my roommate complains a lot that her iPod won't work well downstairs in the opposite part of the house. It's not feasible to move everything downstairs so I was wondering how to get the signal to work better in that part of the house. I have an old wired DSL Gateway that I was thinking about trying to hook up for her, but I don't know if that would work as a "repeater" or not. Can I hook the iPod Touch 4th generation directly to this other router/modem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

IOS 8 differences on IPAD

I took a chance and installed IOS 8 only to find I now need to double tap what used to be a single tap. The bookmarks icon moved to the left side and when opened won't dissapear when you load a site unless you tap it a second time. When a site is open and you scroll down a page the back option dissapears till you scroll back to the top. You can't close a page unless you minimize it. The close comand isn't there anymore. It seems less user friendly. Any thoughts?

Old newb needs help

I had just purchased an ipod classic last month , downloaded all my Cd's ,then my hardrive went bad. I had set up separate accounts for myself and my wife , all her music is where it's supposed to be in her itunes account , mine however is in the computer , and not in my account. When I open itunes and enter my account info , the only thing that shows up are the songs I purchased from itunes store. How do I move all my music from inside the computer , to my itunes account ? 160gb Classic Unable to Sync?

I am interested in purchasing a 160gb Classic because I'm about to fill up my 80gb version and I see Apple is no longer going to make the 160.

Itunes Help

I have just installed Itunes 11.4 so that I can use my IPAD via Itunes. Can anyone tell me how I can set Itunes up so I can see my library in a LIST with the blue and white stripes format as in the older Itunes versions. rather than pictures of album covers etc etc.

iPhone5 Lightning Plug issue

I have an Iphone5 that I use in my car for music. Lately, I cannot get the music to play due to the lightning plug. I have cleaned out the plug area but, still do not get a good connection.

iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 6 Plus - What To Go With?

So I played with an iPhone 6 all weekend and it is hands down the greatest smartphone I’ve ever seen. #I’m giddy about it, really. I haven’t been this giddy for an iPhone since 2007’s 1st generation. This phone is 100% perfect in every way. It’s smooth, it’s sexy, it’s fast, the screen real estate is wonderful. The shape, the look… it’s all 100% perfect. Married and built for iOS 8 only makes it the greatest device ever. I have written a lot Apple products, and for the first time ever I cannot find a flaw in the new iPhone 6.



As for me personally, I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus.#Why? I’m coming from a 3.5” screen which is flat out ‘old’ now. ALL smart phones are 4” +, and I feel my old phone is really showing its age. Also, I travel a lot for work nowadays and I am finding myself using my iPhone (and iPad) all the time. So after seeing a mock up of the 6 Plus compared to the 6, no decision was bad - in my opinion. So… I will get the bigger one! Kinda like buying a TV.#Get the bigger one.#



I also just saw a 6 Plus in person and I am so happy I went with it.#It’s big, but it’s not obnoxious like the comparable Android phones. That’s not a dig at ‘Android’, as that is software - it’s a dig at any and all non-Apple phones that are in the 5.5” hardware category.#Software be damned, hardware is hardware. The new 6 Plus is brilliant, it’s as sexy as the 6, feels as thin, the weight ratio is perfect, and the screen is beautiful. And, going against one of my biggest fears - it fit in my jeans pocket just fine.#It was amazing.



The phone married with the iOS 8 landscape feature is brilliant, and only the 6 Plus offers that. I’ve always wanted to use my iPhone in landscape at times, (it’s logical if you are coming from an app that’s in landscape). The camera is better, and watching video on the 6 Plus is ‘finally’ what it’s all about. It feels like watching video magically in your hand. Again not since the first iPhone have I been giddy about an iPhone as a technology. It’s flat out brilliant. As soon as it was in my hands I smiled ear-to-ear. A couple of other praises? Sure. If you have bigger hands you’ll love the iPhone 6 Plus. If you want to SEE everything on your screen and then some, you’ll love the iPhone 6 Plus.#I don’t have to strain at viewing something or wish my screen was ‘just a bit bigger’.



It’s big, but not obnoxious. It’s sexy.



Bottom line, in choosing between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, you can't go wrong.

I can't install Itunes on my computer

I tried to update my wife iphone with her computer and Itunes today. My wife's computer is running Windows vista Service pack 2 and Norton 360. I think her computer has all the requirements to run the newest version of Itunes. I ran the Itunes installer and it seems to download and install but when I click finish, I get an error message.



The procedure entry point ADiAdID_AcquireMathcSLotNecessary could not be located in the dynamic link library iAdCore.dll.



Itunes was not installed correctly. PLease reinstall Itunes Error7 Windows error 127

Moving songs back to iTunes

My computer hard drive died last week. I was able to retrieve my data for the drive and put it on an external drive (including my itunes library). I downloaded itunes back on my computer and then copied the itunes library into the iTunes folder on my computer. iTunes looked liked it copied all my music but then I noticed most of my songs iTunes couldnt locate. What did I do wrong? Does it need by the same path as before or do I need to remove and replace something in the itunes folder on my computer so itunes can locate my songs. I know i moved all my songs from the external hard drive to my computer.

Iphone 6 otterbox defender and 30 to 5 pin adapter...

I just got the Iphone 6 and the new Otterbox Defender case. The Iphone 5 Otterbox Defender case worked with the 30 to 8 pin adapter the new case will not. I loved charging my phone with my clock radio but right now I can't. I would rather figure out a way to still use this setup and keep case on. We have 2 cats and one loves to chew the nice white rubber on the cables. I don't want to be buying more cables at 30 a pop. Any suggestions woul be nice thanks...

iPod backup viewer?

So I accidentally deleted a photo from my iPod Touch that I wanted to keep. I know the photo still exists in one of my recent iPod backups. One possible solution would be to:



1. Make a new, current backup.

2. Erase the ipod.

3. Restore from the previous backup.

4. Copy the photo.

5. Erase the iPod again

6. Restore from the more current backup again.



...but that seems like a lot of work just to get one photo out of the backup file that's sitting right here on my computer. Are there any (safe, reliable, [preferably free?]) tools I can use to just view/extract the photos from the backup file itself, without having to actually restore it back onto the iPod?

Ipod Classic internal clicker hissing

Hey,



A friend of mine had his ipod soaked and after that he left it untouched for about a week or so. Now whenever it is charged, it starts hissing audibly the whole time it has charge. It drains the battery really fast and even when the ipod is asleep or turned off.



I disassembled it and switched out the cable which holds the clicker, headphone jack and hold button, but the hiss remained.



What could I try to make it stop? Wash the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol?

Ipod Classic Sync does not finish

My iPod Classic with the latest update, as well as iTunes which is also updated; seems to have finished synching the iPod based on the summary pages and song count; but the "finishing sync" message in the sync status pane continues is continuing on for hours. It alternates with the "synching iPod Do Not Disconnect" message. I am a Windows user, also updated.



Should I just eject it? It is late at night and this has been synching for about 8 hours.

Disappearing music

Over 6000 tracks including album artwork has disappeared for the second time and I am left with only apple purchases. I am so sick of this Apple iTunes I cannot tell you! Any idea why or how this keeps happening and how do I reload or get it all back. I still have the mp3 files. Tracks remain at present on my iPod Classic but will this wipe automatically if I connect up and it syncs? Does it backload to iTunes? Thanks.

Hard delete tracks from smart playlists

Before the latest update to iTunes 11.4, I used to be able to "hard" delete tracks from smart playlist (Ctrl-Shift-Del); however, that function appears to have either changed or flat out been removed.



What the keyboard shortcut did was to skip past the "Are you sure you want to delete the selected song(s) from you iTunes library?" (like when you press the Del only from the full "Music Library") and went directly to the "Do you want to move the selected song(s) to the Recycle Bin, or keep it in the iTunes Media Folder?" This shortcut allowed you to delete songs from the library and hard disk while working in both Playlists and Smart Playlist. With the shortcut gone, you now have to find the song you are playing in a Playlist/Smart Playlist in the Music Library and delete it from there.



Any thoughts on how to get that keyboard shoprtcut back?

Ipod Nano 4th Gen, Menu Button Problems

I have a (Red) Product iPod Nano 4th Generation @ 16gb. For some reason, it works perfectly, except that the menu button will not work at all. If I want to change songs or artists, I have to restart the entire iPod. But starting today, it won't let me restart the iPod either.



Any suggestions as to why this is happening, and/or any possibly solutions to my problems?

Transfer from old iPod to new

Hello,



I have a new iPod. I have an old iPod. I want all the music on the old iPod on my new iPod. I have a new install of iTunes with no music. I have some music on the computer with the new iTunes installation that I do not want on my new iPod or in the new iTunes installation. Restore iPhone from old iCloud backup

Hi.



Recently i've lost the data on my macbook, and therefore i've wanted to restore my iPhone from an old iCloud backup which might contain some of my lost photos etc.



The problem is: When i try to restore my iPhone from iCloud it only shows some of my newest backups, but last time i had to restore the iPhone i remember seeing backups which was older. Can this have anything to do with my new updates on the iPhone (just updated it to 7.0) - so that it somehow can't read or sync with the older backups, and therefore don't show them? And what would then be my solution?

The backup i need is probably a year old..

I have an A2DP bluetooth music receiver hooked up to my car.



It plays music pristinely thought the device.



But when I try to make a phone call, it doesn't send the dial tone or the call through the bluetooth, but only through the iphone.

Just wondering if this is allowed as my friend got a new iphone using an upgrade eligibility option from a family member.



My wife has iPhone 4 and is basically uses the phone for fb, text messaging and email. She is not into the whiz bang of the new phones. In fact, we've been asking her to upgrade her phone for several years since her upgrade eligibility was with the iPhone 5.

Demise of the iPod Classic

Having heard the sad news about the demise of the iPod Classic, I'm wondering if I should run out and buy one now, before they are all gone. The 160G that I'm now using is working fine, but it's bound to fail eventually. Does anyone know if there might be future problems with iPod/iTunes compatibility? Hi, does anyone know if I buy a iPhone 6 in the UK, could I purchase AppleCare + in the USA a couple of weeks later? I think the only stipulation I can see is that you have to let them inspect the phone, show proof of purchase & it has to be within 30 days of purchase - all this I can meet. My new computer doesn't recognize my old ipod!

Hi everyone! I am back with a new sort of problem I hope some of you iloungers can solve! Okay, I have an old 3rd generation Ipod Touch updated to 5.1.1 and a new computer with itunes updated to 13.3.1.2. When I go to itunes and plug in my cable, it doesn't show up on the left and when I look at "My account" it does not appear under associated devices. I can see how to remove a device but not how to add one. Instead of coming up in itunes a new screen appears and it shows up as "internal storage" under the screen for "this pc." I don't know if it natters but my computer runs Windows 8 (which I can't stand!) Any ideas?



Also provided I will eventually be able to get my ipod to sync, what is the easiest way to get audiobooks loaded by Overdrive Media Console to go under "audiobooks" instead of appearing in my itunes library mixed in with music? Thanks!

iPod classic corrupts after every sync

I've been having an issue with my iPod classic syncing to iTunes since an update I believe a month or two ago. When I sync it the process completes but when I eject my iPod it's corrupted and doesn't recognize any of the data. A restore does nothing and I have to change the drive letter and restart for it to allow me to restore it. Once restored, it lets me sync fine and eject without problems. However, the next time I sync it, it corrupts again. I've run the diagnostics on my iPod and uninstalled/reinstalled all Apple software. Any additional ideas on where I should go from here?

songs from iTunes store automatically download to iPod Touch.

I have a feeling this has been covered here before but I'm new to the forums and started going through old posts but hadn't found it yet....



here's my problem. songs that I purchased in the iTunes store are automatically uploading to my iPod Touch even though I don't want them on there.



I have my iPod set to manually manage music. I also in iTunes have the Device settings set to "prevent any devices to automatically sync."



I feel like I have everything set correctly. But whenever I plug my iPod into my Mac it starts downloading any songs I have purchased (free or otherwise) from iTunes Store. Nothing else does this. Nothing I've bought from Amazon store etc. Just the iTunes Store purchases. I have to go into my iPod and manually delete them to keep them from getting out on there.



Can anyone shed some light? I feel like this is connected to iCloud (which I don't pay for but I'm sure I have the free 5gb account from when I bought either my iPad mini, iMac or the iPod Touch.)

What screwdriver? Torx? 4th Gen HDD

I want to open the 4th gen HDD which always has a sad face but its years and years and years old and has all of my classic music on it and before I throw it away.



Anyway so I think the HDD is stuck as I can hear it just failing all the time.

Ipod Classic Playlist Problem

I have had an Ipod Classic for about a year now and am very happy with the sound etc but still find doing some tasks difficult, simply stated its not very intuitive. Here are the current problems, apologies if they are very elementary but would appreciate step by step advice. I often find advice on forums assumes certain knowledge of the system etc, which I don't have!



1) The playlists on my iPod don't appear in iTunes library.



2) I cannot delete playlists from my iPod



3) In iTunes, the music tab displays a Sync Music Box and then three options.

I do not have the Sync Box checked so currently marked is Entire Music Library. I am very reluctant to check the Sync Music Box in case all my music

is lost.



Can anyone please give SIMPLE STEP BY STEP resolutions to these problems.

ipod problems playback/recognition

Hi,

I am new to the forum. To date I have avoided using apple products as I find the itunes software limiting, complicated and primitive.

However, my brother disagrees. He saya I can keep his 2009 ipod160 if I can get it working..... I am using Windows 7/ Itunes 2.0.4/ Ipod 160 classic.



I can only get the ipod recognised by itunes if I put the ipod it into disk mode, re-format/wipe the memory.

Each time itunes recognises the ipod it says it is corrupted so through itunes it suggests I restore it which i do...then sync...then all songs are on the ipod successfully.

That done, playback of tunes on the ipod stays at 0.00 or skips 5 or 6 tracks and stays at 0.00...sporadically it does play. The ipod shows no signs of a fault until it won't play.

I have several times gone through this process / deleted itunes and downloaded again several times.



Listening to the ipod I hear a healthy hard drive sound - like a flea's hair-dryer constant, then a slight interruption to it when it is performing a new task. When I press play there is that brief 'laser' sound which I understand is characteristic of the ipod160 in good working order.



I'll bring it into the local ipod man today but if anyone is in the mood for suggesting some other action I can take (other than throw it in the bin) I would greatly appreciate it.

iTunes/iPhone Syncing Problems

I had to rebuild my iTunes library from scratch about a month ago and used Media Monkey to "rip" some of my music off of my iPhone to re-import to iTunes. The plan worked, mostly, except for the fact that I think that it messed up the syncing between my iPhone and iTunes in terms of not displaying the media contents of my iPhone correctly. For instance, it shows 34 GB free space on iTunes when in reality I have about 30 GB and iTunes won't show all of the current songs on my iPhone. I've attempted to erase the library and re-sync it several times, but I haven't resolved the issue. I've thought about restoring from a backup, but I'm not sure that it would help and, more importantly, I'd rather not have to waste the time doing it if there is a more simple solution. Is the key to the problem possibly Media Monkey and setting(s) there? Anybody have a similar problem and/or have any possible ideas on how to fix this issue, preferably without having to start fresh? Question re: deleting corrupt files stuck in "Other" without restoring??

Hi everyone-



It has been a long time since I've been to these forums. It looks like I still have a "moderator" badge, though. Things just got crazy busy, and I haven't been spending much time at any forums.



But, I have a problem, and know this is a huge community, so here we go ...



My iPhone is kind of a pain. Every couple of months while trying to sync new music from iTunes, it will get stuck in the "waiting for items to transfer" stage and just hang forever. If I kill the sync, the music files remaining on the phone become corrupted.



What I have done in the past is use a program like DiskAid or iFunBox to manually go in an delete the contents of the "Music" folder, and then go back to iTunes and put all my music back. This typically works, and I've been forced to do this about 3-4 times.



Well, it happened again, but with a new twist. This time, when I went to delete my 40GB of music, rather than just deleting it, it now shows up under "other" when I connect to iTunes. So, I now have 42GB of "other."



If I look in the general settings, it shows 0 songs. The music player shows no content. But, the available space on my phone is only 1.5GB because it thinks there is 42GB tied up in "other."



I connected back to DiskAid and iFunBox trying to find that 40GB of apparently corrupted music files, but I can't seem to find it.



So, my question to the group is ...



Is there a way to find and delete this 40GB of apparently corrupted music files *WITHOUT* doing a restore?



I know that I can restore from my most recent backup, but in an ideal world I'd rather not do that. I've been on vacation the last couple weeks, and if I do a restore from my most recent backup, I will lose the progress I made on a bunch of games.



I'm obviously perfectly willing to lose that progress and do a restore if it's my only option, but I wanted to post this question and make absolutely sure there are no easier methods.



I am not jailbroken, and have no desire to be, so options that require a jailbrake won't work for me.



If it matters, I am using the iPhone 5, with the latest iOS, the latest version of iTunes, and a Windows 8 machine.

Notifications Issue

I recently purchased an iPod touch about four days ago. Just today, I noticed that whenever I tap on notifications, a white spot/light appears on the top left portion of the screen just before the applications open. I'm worried. What's wrong? Has anyone else experienced this?

Lossless Confusion...

I have an iPod Classic 7th Gen feeding a car head unit. First, if I convert all of my library to Apple Lossless, will it transfer to my iPod as Lossless? Second, if iTunes does that, will my iPod then play out as Lossless or do I have to change a setting in the iPod to do so?
