iPhone5 Lightning Plug issue

I have an Iphone5 that I use in my car for music. Lately, I cannot get the music to play due to the lightning plug. I have cleaned out the plug area but, still do not get a good connection.



Has anyone had this issue? Do the lightning plug connections ever go bad on these phones and can they be repaired or replaced?
