This seems like it should be simple, but I can't seem to get it to work.
My iTunes library file was corrupted. No good backup (backups were done but it was actually several corrupted library files that were only bits & pieces of the whole library). So I got a new external hard drive and copied all my music folders to the new one. Created a new library and imported all the folders. Turns out, some of the music folders were also lost when the old hard drive started going bad. So lots of music is missing.
The songs ARE on ipads & iphones from prior transfers. These are songs that had been loaded via CD into iTunes, not purchased in the iTunes store. So I was hoping that I could plug the devices in, and somehow copy them back into iTunes. Can't figure out where? I've already gone into iTunes and downloaded purchases. But since these were from CD loads, they still aren't in iTunes. I tried to sync, but it warns me that it will delete everything off the device, so I cancel. How can I transfer all this music back from the devices to iTunes? It's way more than I want to manually load all the CD's.
