Work Stream/ File management

Hi all...



(First time user so go easy on me please.)

I am keen in hobby digital camera photography.

Everything was going good on my Hp desk top using Windows Live Photo

Gallery and Photoshop.

Then my kids gave me a ipad and iphone

This is when the confusion started.

I have registered to icloud as well.

I have lost control of what is going on.

My workflow was a upload from a flashcard to windows live photo gallery.

Because I use mainly Raw in Camera. Windows made a JPEG file as well.

This allowed me to view images in WLPG in JPEG and use RAW within

photoshop.

I have fallen in love with the simplicity of Apple products.

I pop the flash card in the reader on the end of the ipad and are looking at

images within seconds of taking them. Even in the field.

But it what happens then thats the problem. Everything is shared and this is when it gets muddled up.

It has its advantages at times. If I load the photos onto my desktop its nice to see them on my Ipad or Apple TV having been edited.But I dont want them shared from the ipad everywhere else immediately. I dont mind them going into storage in icloud.

The problem is sometimes I want to just edit some quick images on the ipad

bin the rubbish and save the good to WLPG. The very good then may go to PS for further work.

There will be times when I wish to load the images directly to the hard drive as well.





I am sure this work stream can be done with files but I dont know how.???

Anyone have a suggestion?
