Battery replacement...Do not Send to United Camera, Bensenville, IL

RIP OFF---DO NOT DEAL WITH UNITED CAMERA, BENSENVILLE, IL. Recently I sent a working Ipod (5th gen, Nano) with a quickly discharging battery for a battery replacement to United Camera. I found them on the web. I sent a check for $35 to cover the stated cost of the repair. About a week ago I got a call with a gal saying that there was corrosion and that it would cost over $200 to make the necessary repairs. I told her that the unit was not worth that and to send it back. Today I go my Ipod back and it no longer works at all. To make matters worse, they KEPT THE ENTIRE $35. So now I have a broken Ipod, am out my $35. Please pass this along to anyone having an Ipod problem...don't deal with this company. Sure they will make the argument that it took $35 of labor and postage and handling to check it out and send it back to me. BTW, they didn't even replace or send me a battery that I could install.



With nothing left to loose at the moment, I plan to go to youtube and find a video to replace the battery myself. I should have done this in the first place. Lessons learned! Fair warning to all...Do Not Deal With UNITED CAMERA, BENSENVILLE, IL.
