iPod nano thumb drive

I broke an iPod nano 6th generation 16gb. Can I open it (digitally) and delete everything on it to use it a a thumb drive?



Don't worry about the iPod, I replaced it with a 70 dollar iPod nano 5th generation (mint condition) 16gb.



Should I sell the broken iPod?
