ipod nano 7th gen probs

My fairly new ipod nano 7th gen went through airport security. Now, it won't turn on or charge. It is completely unresponsive. I can't imagine what else would have caused it considering I had used it the night before, and charged it to make sure I had enough juice for my flight. I also disconnected it properly from my computer. Is there any hope?
