When I updated an app, it locked me out, have I lost the contents?

I bought the "professional" version of Documents, by Savy Soda.



It was everything I dreamed for, in multiple folders, creating multiple types of Docs, editing, etc. !



I recieved an upgrade notice, and did so (my oops was not backing up first).



After It the upgrade, I tried to open it, and it is locked.



The App was password protected, but the password window does not shoe!!



I looked for a method to contact them, but I have not seen any results, yet.



On my reciept, it as "report problem" but since None have been reported, apparently I cannot report one?



This is a first time issue for me, I love my iPad Mini, and so far, if I don't like the App, I delete it, find a better one.



This has me stumped.



Do I deete the App, and start over, if so, do I lose the existing files, of will I be asked what I want to do with them?



I do use a second Documents type App, another Boughten and paid for, not "free" but I prefer the SavySoda one, Until Now!!!
