iTunes hangs

Hi everybody,

I posted this problem a week or two ago, and full credit goes to "cjmnews" for dedicating so much time and advice, which was very helpful.

His solutions help to fix problems I didn't realise I had, but iTunes still hates me!

I'm posting the issue again with new information in the hope that it has a bearing on the problem and might lead to a solution. Sorry if it's a bit long!

Here goes! (and many thanks in advance for any advice)!

The problem is iTunes store music previews.

iTunes in library mode works fine.

iTunes store searches for everything except music works fine.

iTunes music searches are a nightmare, particularly if the search result is a long list. (Why does Apple not allow a search to be refined or filtered????)

When I search for a song that produces a long list of results the probelm arises.

Let me use an example:

I search for a song called "Song of Joy".

I get the results OK, but it includes lots of other irrelevant results including albums of that name, and other songs NOT called "Song of Joy" but songs containg the word "joy" such as "Ode to Joy" etc.

I organise by name so that I can scroll down to the results I an interested in, and click the preview button.

The music starts playing, but iTunes just hangs. I can't stop the music and move on to another preview.

I need to Ctrl/Alt/Delete into Task Manager and kill iTunes. (BTW, the music continues playing throughout this process).

I did a test by going through the above procedure and visiting the Computer Managment Event Viewer and got this result:

The program iTunes.exe version 11.0.4.4 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

Start Time: 01ce96ab2c76bcdd

Termination Time: 10

Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe

I then went to the Action Centre Control Panel and that event was recorded like this:

I don't know if it's relevant, but these events also appeared at the same time in Event Manager:

If anybody can even hint at what the problem might be, I'd be very grateful.

I'm at the end of my rope trying to purchase music in iTunes.

Best wishes to everybody
