Ipod touch 5 making static noise

I have had my ipod 5 for about 6 months. I recently noticed that when it has to do something such as buffer a video or focus on something while in the camera, it will make a small static noise. It sounds like its coming from the inside and near the bottom. I only noticed it when the ipod wasn't charging but it doesnt happen a lot. Maybe 10 times a day. The noise probably lasts not even a second but it still doesnt sound good. Any thought on what it might be, could it be harmful or can i fix it? Thanks.
